2: VAMPIRE HUNTERS ATTACK

  "GO GO GO! 4 VAMPIRES SPOTTED! SHOOT IF THEY ATTACK, HANDCUFF AND SHOOT WITH THE TRANQUILIZERS IF NOT ATTACKING!" I get out of the van with the rest of the group and head the leader order us and a couple vampires are spotted.

  But wait? two look like vampires but the other two look human? "SHOOT THAT ONE WITH YOUR TRANQUILIZER AND TAKE HIM INTO THE VAN!" Ari instructs me and points to a man.

  "But he's human??! no?!" I ask her with my gun pointed to him. A lot of shots fired and yelling is heard. "DONT MAKE THAT MISTAKE SOME OF THEM LOOK HUMAN BUT THEY ARENT! TRANQUILIZE HIM NOW!" She instructs me again.

  "Alright!" I shoot the human looking vampire in the stomach with my tranquilizer. I'm scared but I approach him with my gun and handcuff him.

  "Uh d-don't move!" I tell the Vampire who is surprisingly not so scary looking like I thought vampires would be. I take him in the van. "Good job Gi since you're new stay with him here while we handle the rest" Ari tells me and then goes off to fight more vampires.

  "Agh fuck this hurts" the vampire groans in pain looking at me. I'm breathing heavily scared shit less out of my mind with my gun shaking pointed towards him.

  "What the fuck" I say out loud. I'm in shock and disbelief at my life right now. Like what the actual hell is going on. This can't be real. This is like a fever dream.

  "Please I'm not going to hurt you let me go, I have a family who needs me" the vampire looks up at me on the floor of the back of the van. Why do I feel so bad right now? Dad told me that vampires don't feel emotions and that they think like robots.. so then why does this vampire look so sad?

  "Please" he pleads one more time. The more I'm looking at him the worse I feel. He looks so beautiful. He doesn't look scary. He is sweet. His eyes are a beautiful hazel green color.. he's not what I thought he would be..

  I look around to make sure no one is looking. I quickly uncuff the vampire. "Im so sorry I wish I didn't have to hurt you, but if I don't they'll kill me" I tell him as I take the tranquilizer out carefully and hide it in my pocket. I try to put some pressure on his wound with a gauze packet that's in the van.

  "Okay please go! don't tell anyone I freed you! I'll tell them you escaped and I did all I could go!" I tell the vampire as he quickly runs off the van into the forest. The group comes back in the van with 1 vampire handcuffed. "Gi?! Where did he go?" She asks me.

  "I did all he could to get him to stay but he almost bit me and I didn't want to get infected and he ran off!" I lie to her. "Ugh what a bummer, it's okay you're new it's okay to make mistakes, but next mission you have to be better!" She tells me.

  "Yeah I won't let you down!" I tells her.  The reality is I'm anxious all the time. Scared I'll do something wrong.. scared I'll get killed.. just trying to survive. I know I shouldn't have let that vampire go as my job as a hunter but.. I couldn't help but feel bad.

  Narrator: Hours have passed. The group of vampire hunters is now at the facility and its night time. "Hey Ari are you awake?" I whisper to her. "Yeah you?" She answers back. "Do you want to go to the restrooms and talk?" I whisper back to her.

  "Yeah let's be quiet though" she tells me. We're now in the restroom. "Can I be honest with you, promise you won't tell anyone" I tell her. "Yeah of course! what's wrong?" She asks me.

  "That vampire who escaped.. he didn't actually.. I let him go.. you see he has a family who needs hi-" before I can finish my sentence she cuts me off.

  "YOU DID WHAT? NO NO no, Gi that's the worst thing you can do is mistake their kind words for truth! They're just trying to deceive you!" She tells me.
