Allison was woken by a dull, throbbing pain in her head. The room was dim, but the sunlight filtering through the window made her squint. As she stirred, she noticed Jordan standing beside the bed, a glass of water in his hand. He looked down at her with a mix of amusement and sympathy.
"Your head hurts, right?" Jordan asked, watching her massage her temple.
Allison groaned softly, her voice tinged with discomfort. "Yes, it does."
"Mine did too," he admitted, holding out the glass of water. He picked up a small box of ibuprofen from the nightstand and offered her one.
Allison took the pill gratefully, swallowing it down with a sip of water. "Thanks. I don't remember the last time I drank this much."
Jordan chuckled, shaking his head. "Yeah, me neither."
As she glanced around, realization hit her that she was in bed with Jordan beside her the whole night. She gestured at the bed, curiosity creeping in. "Did we...?"
Jordan smiled gently, shaking his head. "No. You don't remember?"
Allison furrowed her brow, trying to piece together the foggy memories. "I remember getting here, then nothing."
"That's because you fell asleep almost immediately," Jordan said, his tone light but affectionate.
Allison groaned, flopping back onto the pillows. "What time is it?"
Jordan checked his phone. "About 9 a.m."
Her eyes widened in panic. "Damn it, I'm late!" She scrambled out of bed, hurriedly slipping on her shoes and grabbing her phone. "I promised Kie's parents I'd help at the restaurant today!"
Jordan watched her, amused but also a little concerned. "Kie's still sleeping in the other room. Maybe you should take the day off, and stay a little longer."
Allison laughed, shaking her head as she waved her phone at him. "Five missed calls from Anna. I don't think taking the day off is an option." She moved closer, a playful glint in her eyes. "You owe me, by the way."
Jordan raised an eyebrow, confused. "What?"
"You owe me an orgasm," she whispered, her gaze locking with his.
Jordan's eyes widened, and he smirked, his playful side returning. "Oh, that."
Allison nodded, biting her lip. "Mhm. That."
Jordan grinned, stepping closer and pulling her gently toward him. "Well, I can give you one right now if you don't leave."
Allison shook her head, but she couldn't help but smile. "Not when my sister is in the other room."
Jordan laughed softly, teasing, "Now you're worried about your sister hearing, but last night you didn't care if people saw?"
She smirked, shrugging. "I was drunk."
Jordan nodded in mock understanding. "Right."
Allison leaned in, giving him a quick kiss before stepping back. "I really have to go now."
Jordan kissed her forehead, his voice soft. "Okay, I'll see you later."
"Wow, you're so sweet," Allison teased with a smile as she headed for the door. Jordan followed her with his eyes, the smile lingering on his face as she left the room.
Before she exited the house, Allison checked on Kie, who was still fast asleep. Without disturbing her, Allison slipped out of John B's house and headed home, rushing through a quick shower before heading to work, bracing herself for the questions she knew would come.
