BUTTERFLY
Act One: Chapter Twelve
Honest Mistake

SOMETIMES, HAVING FRIENDS THAT DON'T like each other make it hard for Delilah to choose sides. There are two sides to everything. Unfortunately for her, she's close to both sides and is unsure of who to believe seventy percent of the time because she trusts them all too much.

When time came when she heard Harper's side of the story, she understood it and now she knows that three is definitely a crowd.

She sat in between Dusty and Missy while her other friends sat further away from them. They all cheered loudly when Spider came out first, followed by Ant and the rest of the basketball theme. Then they booed loudly when the rival team came, cheering from their own students scattered around the audience.

"Go! Shoot it!" Delilah stood up, exclaiming at Spider who shot it straight, the defender unable to block it. He turned around and winked at Delilah, the girl blushing at the gesture. They thought no one caught it, but both Harper and Dusty did.

Her throat started hurting from all the yelling, glad that it was finally halftime break. Dusty handed her the cup of soda they brought before heading to the game, Delilah thanked him in return.

"How are you feeling?" she asked, nudging his shoulder.

"Could be better," Dusty responded, shrugging. "Nothing much I could do, honestly." Delilah nodded in understanding, not asking anymore questions.

Out of the blue, Malakai walked out and headed straight out of the gymnasium, which made Woodsy announce a five minute break - like that was a thing in basketball.

Spider came out next, stopping by his friends. "Malaki is crazy. He fucking came at me and was ready to fight, then just said fuck you to all of us!" He explained the situation where Malakai was out of it, the coach calling him out then he just snapped. Perhaps he forgot the part where he tried to provoke him, but Delilah was one step ahead.

"You said something, didn't you?" she assumed. "And I'm guessing it wasn't an apology."

"Doesn't matter," Spider waved her off. "He was about to attack me!"
