It was 9:30 at night, and darkness had spread everywhere. Sameer was sitting in an auto-rickshaw heading towards the railway station. He felt a bit uneasy because the last train to Amravati was about to leave soon. Glancing at his watch, he anxiously told the rickshaw driver to hurry up, "Brother, please speed up, or I'll miss my train."

The driver calmly replied, "Sir, there are too many potholes on this road. I can't tell if the road has potholes or if the potholes have some road! Also, my rickshaw is new, and I haven't even paid off its installments yet. Don't worry, I'll get you there on time." Saying this, the driver continued driving at his usual pace, but Sameer, sitting behind him, was growing more and more impatient. He had to catch that train no matter what because it was the last one to Amravati, and if he missed it, the next train wouldn't leave until 5:30 in the morning. If that happened, he would be stuck waiting at the station all night. Restless, Sameer kept urging the driver to speed up, but the driver remained at his slow and steady pace, much to Sameer's frustration.

Sameer, a 30-year-old working at a senior position in a large company, was an ambitious man. He had always wanted to prove himself. He had experienced hardships early on when his father passed away during his childhood, which had shaken his young mind. However, his mother had stood strong, enduring all the difficulties, and raised him on her own.

When his father was on his deathbed, little Sameer had clasped his hands in prayer, asking God to heal his father completely. But his father passed away, and with him, Sameer's faith in God also died. From that day, he became an atheist, harboring a sense of anger and hatred towards God. His mother, on the other hand, was a devout follower of Khandoba of Jejuri and always tried to explain things to Sameer. But by now, Sameer had completely rejected the existence of God and considered money to be his only god. He believed that money could buy all the happiness in the world.
