"Can't we watch something else, we're watching this video for the 5th time!", complained a childish girl's voice next to me and leaned over me and snatched the remote control out of my hand. "But it's my turn to choose!", I shouted back to Emma. "But this All might video is getting boring," Mika complained and Luke nodded next to her.
"All might isn't boring, he's the coolest!" I said firmly, "And when I grow up I'll be a hero like him too. But not better than him because no one is better than him but I'll be just as great as he is!" I stood up and looked really proud. Meanwhile, Emma took the remote out of my hand and turned on something else on the TV.
Somehow it was strange. We're not siblings but we're still like a family, but I think that's what it feels like when you grow up in a house for 7 years. Without parents or other family and with carers who are not interested in you anyway.
At some point we were lying in bed and Luke and Mika were already asleep. I turned to Emma. "Do you think we'll really become pro heroes someday?" I asked her. She turned to me and shrugged her shoulders. I was often told by the carers and other children that we were monsters or useless because of our quirks and I was often laughed at when I said that I wanted to be like All Might..
No matter what thing I touch, it turns into ice and it can't be undone. Unless the object or person melts, but then it's already too late for them anyway. Actually, when I touch something, I can control it quite well whether it turns into ice or not. But when I'm nervous or something like that, it just happens out of nowhere and then I can't control anything anymore.
Emma's quirk is actually just good for killing. She has teeth like a poisonous snake. If she bites someone, they are dead.
Luke is the only one who just finds heroes boring. I think his quirk would be really good for a hero but I don't know. He is a ghost. Well okay, not a real ghost, but he can become a ghost whenever he wants.
And Mika...She's quirkless, but she's still damn strong.
"When we grow up we'll definitely be really cool heroes and everyone will be jealous of us! Trust me," my best friend said encouragingly to me and I slowly fell asleep with a smile in my face.
