You took something made for love
something made for peace
Turned it into weapons
and called it your belief
You say it's for salvation
but you've used it for control
You've twisted every scripture
just to justify your role
You tell us God is love
then you spit out words of fear
You speak of holy battles
but what are you fighting here?
You call yourselves the faithful
but you've lost what's pure and true
If there's a God out there
It sure ain't standing with you
Don't play God, don't play God
You're not the voice of the divine
You're no prophet, just a fraud
A deceiver in the name of God
You say you've found the truth
but look at what you've done
Turning words of love
into bullets from a gun
You've started wars for power
you've killed in the name of peace
You wear your faith like armor
but it hides your own deceit
You build your churches high
while the hungry starve outside
You speak of love and mercy
but where's the compassion in your eyes?
You say you're chosen people
but who chose you to decide?
Who made you judge and jury
over who lives and who dies?
Don't play God, don't play God
You're not the voice of the divine
You're no prophet, just a fraud
A deceiver in the name of God
How many must you hurt
before you see the truth?
How many lives destroyed
how much wasted youth?
Maybe you need a devil
just to feel like you're the saints
Maybe you need someone to blame
to hide your own mistakes
Maybe it's not God that's failed
maybe it's just us
Maybe we should look in mirrors
before we dare to judge
Don't play God, don't play God
You're not the voice of the divine
You're no prophet, just a fraud
A deceiver in the name of God
You say you fight for heaven
but you've lost what's deep inside
If there's a reckoning coming
you've got nowhere left to hide
