There's a shadow in the hallwayand
it's floatin' off the floor
Must be a lamp
or maybe I just didn't shut the door
The walls are kinda bleeding
but I swear it's just the paint
I'll grab a brush, slap on a coat
and fix it while I wait
The rattling chain
and the creaky stairs
Must be the neighbors
... upstairs ... somewhere?
A shimmer in the windowpane
No, I'm not haunted, I'm not insane
It's just a squeak, it's just a creak
A drafty house that's got a leak
So, haunt me, spook me, hiss and scream
There's no such thing as ghosts in here
Bloody Mary in the mirror?
Nah, that's ketchup, I swear
I spilled some fries on Tuesday
and forgot to clean up there
A book flew off the shelf
yeah, that's a little strange
But gravity's a tricky thing
it's bound to rearrange
The whispers from the closet?
Probably the wind
Or maybe that's my phone
hang on, gotta check again
A shimmer in the windowpane
No, I'm not haunted, I'm not insane
It's just a squeak, it's just a creak
A drafty house that's got a leak
So, haunt me, spook me, hiss and scream
There's no such thing as ghosts in here
It's only my imagination
fogging up the glass
Just the tapping of some branches
or the floors just settling fast
And if that pale face
stares at you when you turn out the light
Tell them, "Take a ticket, friend
no ghosts here tonight"
A shimmer in the windowpane
No, I'm not haunted, I'm not insane
It's just a squeak, it's just a creak
A drafty house that's got a leak
So, haunt me, spook me, hiss and scream
There's no such thing as ghosts in here
