I wear a face, like an alien disguise
Hiding behind these human eyes
But the smile cracks, the tape gives way
Revealing truths I dare not say
My face peels back, showing bones
A skeleton from a world unknown
Behind the smiles, a monster's grin
Sharped teeth breaking through the skin
Every step, a dance so strange
Keeping up this human charade
Every word, a foreign tongue
Trying to blend, where I don't belong
Don't let my face fall, don't let it show
The fear of what they might know
I'm a stranger in a human shell
Trapped in a story I can not tell
My skin, it hangs, by lines so thin
Barely holding back the strange within
Each piece of flesh falls to the ground
With every drop, an obnoxious sound
My face is slipping, threads unwind
I grasp and cling, to hide my mind
But underneath, the truth remains
A misfit heart with human pains
I tighten the face, try to mend
Hoping this façade won't end
Will they see the creature inside
The one I've worked so hard to hide
Don't let my face fall, don't let it show
The fear of what they might know
I'm a stranger in this human guise
Trying to keep the truth from their eyes
But maybe it's time, to let it go
To show the world what they don't know
To embrace the scars, the flaws, the truth
To find the strength in being true
Don't let my face fall, don't let it show
The fear of what they might know
I'm a stranger in this human form
Trying to conform in a world so torn
Now the truth emerges, skin falls away
Revealing myself, no longer astray
No more hiding, no more disguise
I stand tall, as my face falls, and I ... rise
