We find Josie's Jeep, she's laying in the front seat watching videos on her phone when we come running, screaming, and banging on her windows.

"Unlock the doors!" The doors open, Savanna and I climbing into the back seats and Angel in the passengers.

"We need to go to the police or at least somewhere with service." I demand, my volume a bit louder than intended. Josie doesn't question any of us, instead she starts the Jeep and begins driving away from WhiteFish. I watch it slowly vanish as we drive farther and farther away, a fog beginning to seep in.

Josie pulls into the first gas station where we hope to find Carol. We rush out of the Jeep and into the store, a customer is leaving as we try to enter the front doors, he shoots us a questionable look. We wait behind the door for his truck lights to turn on and for him to begin driving down the highway, then we turn to look at Carol, who has the same sweet smile as usual.

"What can I do for you?"

We all rush behind the counter, explaining to Carol that she needs to phone the police. Josie isn't hiding with us, instead, she is looking at the shelf of hunting knives beside the entrance. I try to call to her, telling her we need to hide and stay low until the police show up. She turns to look at me, her eyes look scary, like she's ready to hurt somebody.

"Hey, Carol."

"Yes, Hun, what is it?"

"Jesse." Josie pulls a 'missing persons" sign from the back of the door, "how are you related"

Josie shows the paper to Carol, who lets out a wholehearted sigh and again, she smiles.

"He's, my baby." She begins sobbing. Just as her sentence finishes, the glass doors are shot out by a shotgun. Josie ducks and flees to the other side of the store, Angel, Carol, and I stay behind the till. Carol pokes her head up to see the perpetrator.

"Jesse, oh Jesse, where have you been?" Carol asks him, tears falling from her eyes. No hesitation, he points and shoots, Carol's body hits the back wall aggressively and falls to the floor, her gushing head resting on Angel's lap. I can't help but scream, as I do, Jesse's head appears over the till. He aims at Angels and pulls the trigger once again, hitting Angel in the chest and knocking him unconscious, or dead.

He then turns to aim the gun at me, I close my eyes and begin begging for my life. My body is uncontrollable, and I begin to wet my pants, I'm shaking violently, and my lips are quivering so hard that I've bit them multiple times now. I think back to the body he showed me, it reminded me of my mother and how I found her. It was almost like it wasn't as hard seeing it the second time, maybe that's only because I didn't see the persons face. There's been a hesitation, why hasn't he shot me yet? I open my eyes to see Josie standing behind Jesse, with a rifle in her hands, positioned directly against the back of Jesse's skull.

There are no words exchanged. Jesse tries to turn his head and Josie pulls the trigger. His brain matter paints the walls. I leave again, I think I blacked out. But it's more like I left my body, my entire life flashed before my eyes. My relationship with Quin, my relationship with my mother, the relationships I gained in the few days I've been here. How could life change so quickly, how could someone do any of this? Josie is shaking me; she only yelled my name a couple of times before throwing me over her shoulder and running back to the Jeep. She throws me in the passenger door and she climbs in the drivers seat, the tires screech and stink of rubber as we speed away, back to Inglewood.
