Hey guys welcome to chapter 25 :)
Everybody in the now crashed party did not know why they all felt safe and protected. They could not see Phino, all they could see was the almost invisible faded golden shield surrounding them.
They were worried and scared but assumed Mirlinde was protecting them with the power the Opal gave her. They all thought she got magical power or that the wise woman condoned a spell.
Knowing and living with the Hunter’s Clan, everyone in Misterdan was aware of how strong and skillful they are. Their weapons were strong and diligent, they made various ones while in Misterdan for hunting purposes.
They made some basic weapons to hunt and to serve as protection just in case someone invades their home.They had prepared somethings in preparation for the attack threat made by the Hunter’s clan, but they were not as effective as the one made by members of the Hunter’s clan. Now seeing their brothers, sisters, children, friends and parents fighting against each other brought hurt. There was a bond, a tie, a connection between the people of Misterdan even though they are separated their hearts are still connected. They are so close yet so far away.
Them fighting against each other brought this burning sensation of pain in their heart. It was a bearable pang but it hurt. In Misterdan everyone was one, they were connected to each other by soul, every fibre of their souls were connected so the detachment let bearable pain in their hearts.
Among everyone only Xander, Mirlinde and the three elders from the Hunter’s clan who got powers from the Opal could see Phino. Since the three former elders of Misterdan have the powers of the Opal in their blood they could see and feel Phino. This made it harder for Phino to fight against Kijo. Even though he was the only one there, he was as powerful as Phino. He had learnt and mastered the art of black and white magic and he was undeniably good. It was because of his knowledge he is now head of the Hunter’s Clan or now ‘Mrkhusa’.
“Ooooh you got help”
“Is that all you got, such illiterate kids ‘ugghh’ I have not even released my powers on you guys yet and there are more deadly weapons”
“Release the killers” Kijo smirked giving directions for his most deadly weapons
“My little dear Nickifa you won’t be holding off their destructions any longer”
“Wait what! You can see Phino” Both Mirlinde and Xander asked in Unison
“Of course I do I am the most powerful person among all of you ‘just o you know’ and besides I have a bit of the gems magic that is embedded in this god forsaken Nickifa"
“ By the way what a cool name you got there Phino buddy” He said to Phino with a small smile
“Too bad you are caught in our fight you would have been of good use to me, quit the chit chat”
“FIRE!”
Kijo signaled for the attack
Phino struggled to keep this shield still under the attack of Kijo. He was pushing back the weapons and holding the shield strong and all of this took the living strength out of him.
Kijo got ready to give his last blow which he was sure would break the shield and kill those in it. He was so frustrated and mad at this point that he didn’t even think of the fact that the whole of the Gleenland clan was in it. He forgot about his plan of killing Mirlinde only now he was so mad he wanted everyone there killed and Phino kept making it hard for him.
Kijo with all the knowledge in magic he had acquired he striked. His hand glowing in a dark purple glow engulfing the whole shield and the blur formed arms and grabbed the shield like a ball and kept lifting it up and banging it to the floor.
Everyone there was tumbling and Phino could not concentrate as he was thrown everywhere. The ‘Mrkhusa’ warriors (Hunter Clan) kept firing their weapons and at the point the shield was cracking and several weapons were coming through.
The weapons started striking people on the now cracked shield, it hit people and they all started falling dead. Each weapon kills on the spot it kills as fast as it hits. Mirlinde had an emotionless face, fear, guilt and anger kept pouncing on her. She rose and stood up ignoring the tumbling shield.
“Come face me Kijo, quit being a coward and come face me”
“You can’t handle me that’s why you are hurting the people I care about”
“MIrlinde no don’t be foolish ‘yours’” Xander pleaded while he held Mirlinde hands
“Xander I am not backing out, you either stand with me or stand against me” Mirlinde said looking at Xander with no remorse in her eyes, her face was pale and emotionless,Xander had never seen Mirlinde like that before.
Xander stood up looking Mirlinde in the eye, “Mirlinde, you and I are one I am yours as well as you are mine”
“I will stand with you between peace and war, between the heavens and the earth, between enemies and Allies”
Xander held Mirlinde’s hands and they stood hand in hand to face the enemy and nothing was against them. Mirlinde found a new sense of hope and a boosting amount of energy surging through her and she held Xander’s hand sparks igniting where they held each other’s hands.
“All right love birds prepare to die”
“Boys hand me your weapons, these lovely idiots have surrendered their lives to me”.
“Mirlinde no don’t be foolish” Phino screamed, still trying to stabilize himself from the still moving shield that was almost about to dissolve.
Kijo calmed the blur around them and and the arms disappeared but the shield fell hard and the impact broke it apart. Before everyone could put together what was happening.
Kijo fired but it never reached Mirlinde and Xander, they closed their eyes and prepared for the impact but it never came.
Until they heard the gasps behind them.
