Olivia:
1 week later:
Sofia blinked multiple times as we told her the story.
-"What!?" She said eventually, "S-Shot you?"
Jules was eyeing her, as if she was expecting her to take out a gun and start shooting at us.
-"Yeah," Rui nodded, "He almost killed me."
Sofia's eyes widened.
-"WHAT!?"
-"Well at least now I can go around and tell people 'you can't hurt me, I've been shot at'" Aaron gave us a dramatic performance.
-"But that's so messed up," Sofia said, "Who would do that?"
I thought for a second before answering.
-"Do you know who Max Hastings is?" I asked her.
-"Max..Hastings-?" She repeated the name, foreign to her. "No, never heard of that name. Why?"
Before I could answer, I caught a glimpse of my Mom's car, and she was waving at me and Kayan to go over.
-"Oh sorry Sofia," I got up and yanked Kayan up as well.
-"Ow—"
-"I will explain another time. Bye guys!" I started waving at them like a maniac.
FIVE HOURS LATER:
-"Seriously though, my Dad said he'd kill me if I didn't go to the super market today." Aaron closed the car door.
-"Wow." I rolled my eyes and went to open mine.
-"NO.NO NO." He stopped me before I could do anything, and he opened the door for me. "Here you go m'lady."
Aaron could be ridiculous. But in a cute way. I chuckled and got out of the car. I looked around the parking lot. It was nearly empty, and I felt a weird feeling wash over me. As if someone was here. Watching us. Waiting.
-"You alright?" Aaron asked.
-"Yes, sorry, just a bit...I zoned out." I smiled.
Aaron gave me a shrug, and we made our way into the market. It was full of people and I forced myself to think, that maybe it was really just me that was overthinking it. And there was still that feeling that someone was following us.
-"Aaron," I put my hand on his shoulder, making him turn around in an instant. "I think we should go."
-"Is everything okay?" He looked around, a nervous expression spreading across his face.
-"No, no..I don't know.. I have this feeling that someone is watching us." I whispered.
Aaron didn't speak for a moment, he just looked around, scanning every person that walked by.
-"Your sixth sense doesn't lie, and usually, for some reason not even Sherlock Holmes himself could explain it's always right. Let's get out of here."
We didn't have to wait for too long to pay, and we were making our way to the parking lot. I looked around, and I felt Aaron doing the same. We were both scanning the place. But there were no cars there anymore. Only Aaron's.
-"Yeah let's get the hell out of here." Aaron slipped his hand into his pockets.
Just then, I heard a distant sound. Distant footsteps. Getting closer by each second.
-"Aaron," I didn't look at him. "Hurry."
-"I'm trying!" He said, "I can't find my keys."
-"What on earth do you mean 'you can't find your keys' !?" The footsteps got closer.
-"Someone must've took them from me."
-"What!? How!?"
The keys were in Aaron's pocket the whole time. How could have someone just walked past us and grab them? It didn't make any sense.
The footsteps now were into the parking lot, with us. Keeping us company in the dark.
-"shit—Shit.." Aaron started muttering as he took out his phone.
-"What on earth are you doing!? It's not time for selfies!"
-"Hey, at least if I die I'll do it in a cool way. But no seriously, I was going to call someone but I have no signal." He raised his phone higher, trying to reach someone.
I grabbed his hand and he let out an 'OOF—' as I dragged him and we hid behind a wall.
-"He's here." I whispered.
-"The guy that shot us?"
-"Maybe." I peeked out and saw a figure, looking around. They were wearing a hoodie over their head, and I couldn't see their face. They were dressed in pitch black. Except the shoes. The were gray.
-"Aaron. Your phone."
-"Huh? You're the one that said no selfies—"
-"Shut up!" I hissed and grabbed his phone.
I zoomed in and clicked to take a picture of the figure. And then, when I pressed it, the flash opened, and the figure's head snapped right at us.
-"Shit Aaron run!" I said and started running.
We heard footsteps behind us, running at the same pace, or even faster.
-"GO GO GO!" Aaron pushed me to go faster.
I turned to look me behind me, trying to spot who it was. But I couldn't see anything.
-"KEEP RUNNING!" I yelled. There was no point in whispering now.
Aaron grabbed my hand and we ran out of the parking lot. We turned around but the figure had already dissapeared.
-"Well, looks like we got in trouble." Aaron looked at me.
