"It's only a couple more blocks from here"
Killian said as we walked the sidewalks of the night.
"Alright, thank you....So...you and Emma huh?"
I asked smirking.
My face was dry now that I had some fresh air and a distraction. I was holding the bracelet in my hands still sad though.
He looked at me surprised and looked away with a frown
"Aye. She's the one..my true love..but she's hiding something from me.. She's been so distant lately...and she won't talk to me..."
Killian said in a frustrated tone.
"Have you tried doing things to her"
I said wiggling my eyebrows up and down giggling. He looked down at me in shock
"I've never met a girl as blunt as you...are you joking with me?"
He asked looking suspicious. I laughed
"I am actually just a really blunt girl but I was joking. I need some entertainment walking back"
I said with a smirk. He smirked back
"And how about you and your x-boss... Hyde? You and him aye?I don't know what you see in him..but I was a villain and Emma helped me change in many way"
He asked looking away. My eyes widened and a blush instantly went to my face..my heart thundered and my eyes threatened to burn with tears.
"Did you ever..push her away because you thought you didn't deserve her?"
I asked in a cracked voice.
"Aye. So has she before..but we've both come a long way..she just needs to depend on me more rather than trying to figure it all out on her own"
He said stopping me to see my face.
"Ha! Now that's something I could drink to! Couldn't relate more"
I laughed at him. He chuckled back, seeing the connection between Hyde and Emma.
"You know..it sounds like you and I both could use a drink..whiskey?"
He asked. I smirked
"That actually sounds good right about now"
I said honestly.
"To Granny's then"
He said pointing and we crossed the street. We sat down and Granny greeted us
"Whiskey"
We both said and laughed. We were there for a couple hours just talking, giving each other relationship advice and getting to know each other.
"Killian you're a really really great guy..Emma is a very lucky lady"
I said smiling
"Are you hitting on me or is that the whiskey talking?"
He asked smirking at me. I laughed shaking my head.
"Definitely just being nice dude! I'm a little more loose with whiskey I'll admit, but not hitting on you. Plus Emma being the savior and and ex dark one and all, I wouldn't even try to look at those waters but she really is such a kind and helpful woman I can see why so many adore her"
I said looking at my cup, seeing it almost empty. Killian laughed in agreement.
"I feel the same...she's helped me become such a better person than I once was... I just wish she trusted me enough to come talk to me when something is bothering her. I wish she'd let me help her"
He said holding up his hook and staring at it. I wasn't exactly a lightweight with whiskey. Hyde and I could throw it back with the best of them. My face was turning red though from the alcohol though.
"She seems like a really strong girl with really strong walls...Hyde is the same way...maybe whatever she's going through she doesn't want you or her family to worry? I mean...for the longest time..I didn't tell Hyde that Jekyll had been experimenting on me just to see if his serums were working...I was scared to tell Hyde... Jekyll was too scared to try new formulas on himself so, he'd use it on me...when he was around I was a prisoner, like Cora wanted, but when Hyde was around....I was just his assistant.. Helping him figure out a separation potion... one day I got really really sick in front of Hyde... I had thrown up in the nearest trash can and there was no hiding it anymore when he saw blood in it... I had to tell him everything...luckily Hyde had figured out everything I had been injected with and found an antidote that made me better...he said if it had been maybe once a week or once a couple weeks it would of never been that bad..but because I was injected with multiple things multiple times a day the combination in my body was killing me from the inside out... I probably would of died that night if Hyde hadn't whipped up that antidote so quickly"
I said running my finger over the rim of the whiskey glass.
"Guess he can't be all bad if he's saving lives...I'll have to keep an eye on Jekyll because he tells a completely different story and no offense mate, but we don't know any of you so we don't know who to trust"
Killian said looking down at me. I shrugged.
"He's not bad at all...and Jekyll isn't all that good...Hyde's just been screwed over so many times BY Jekyll, he refuses to take a chance to let anybody close no matter what...which is why he's so content with being locked down there...he hasn't done anything wrong other than lock you guys up and come here with a lot of people"
I said making Killian brows raise like 'excuse me?'
"He choked me..and he almost killed me..and tried to take over the town as soon as he got here...that man is bloody strong"
Killian said gently rubbing his throat before taking another shot.
"Sorry about that. I'm sure you were just an obstacle but I even told him that was not the right approach to catching Jekyll. Try being in a room with him when another serum turns into a dead end"
I said shaking my head
"Bad temper?"
He asked smirking. I laughed thinking of all the test tubes and beakers I've had to replace from him swiping the table in anger.
"Literally the worst when he's working. I'm pretty bad...I have the worst temper out of my brother and yet...in the 5 years I've known Hyde...tonight was the first argument we ever got into"
I said in realization.
"Well he's a bloody fool. You were his only loyal friend...and he threw you out. To hell with him"
Killian said with an annoyed face. I took another shot of whiskey
"Screw him. He can be friends with his chains"
I said as I took a sip from my water to balance me out. I smirked, looking over to Killian
"Let's talk about something happier like did a crock actually eat your hand?"
I said giggling as I poked the tip of his hook
"Ow that's sharp!"
I said giggling more making him laugh.
"Aye I see you're like every other female who can't handle their liquor"
He said smiling down at me but I shot him a look
"Im buzzed not drunk, nice try. I didn't think you actually sharpened that thing! Am I bleeding?"
I asked looking at my finger trying to focus. Killian took my finger and examined it then let my hand go smirking.
"No, you pulled back pretty quick but of course I sharpen it. It's a weapon still"
He said smirking. Just then, Emma walked in.
"Hey, I thought you were taking her home?"
Emma asked with a confused smile.
"Aye, we agreed we both needed a drink...thought you needed to be alone"
Killian said a little bitterly. Emma shot him a stare but before she could respond I chimed in.
"Killian quit being a sour puss and give her a kiss!"
I said giggling.
Killian closed his eyes and let his head drop
"What?"
Emma asked with a small laugh, smiling at me and Killian. Killian laughed, shaking his head.
"She's just buzzed, not drunk at all"
Killian said smiling at her. I glared at him again
"I told you I'm more loose when I drink. More fun. Not drunk though, just getting increasingly annoyed"
I said smirking with a hand on my hip.
"Hey guys I'm closing up in 15. Looks like you're adjusting just fine dear"
Granny walked up to us smiling.
I smiled over at her
"Some pretty cool people here that I've met so far. Thanks again for the clothes Granny. How do I look?"
I asked taking a step back and doing a little spin, making Emma, Killian and Granny chuckle.
"It really does suit you well. You look so cute hun"
Granny smiled as she began to take our glasses and wipe the bar table down.
"Thanks! I think I'm about ready for bed though, so I can walk home"
I said smiling as I got up and stretched.
"No way, we're walking you home. Look like I said before, I don't know whether to believe you and Hyde or Jekyll so until I know for sure which one is bad and which one is good, I'm gonna take a chance and say I believe Hyde is right by not wanting you to walk anywhere alone"
Emma said as I shrugged
"It's definitely Jekyll, but suit yourself"
I said shrugging and let Killian and Emma take me home.
Emma walked me into my front door and waited while I pulled my keys out of my bag.
"You sure you'll be okay?"
Emma asked as I began to unlock my door
"Yeah, I'll be alright once I lock up. Thanks again and tell Killian thank you. I needed that bar night more than I realized. Goodnight Emma"
I said as I hugged her goodbye, she hugged back and took a step back with a wave
"Sleep well Jess and don't worry about Hyde. He isn't going anywhere"
Emma said smiling at me. I giggled
"Yeah..I know..."
I said and with that she left. After that I went to sleep..thinking about Hyde..and how he's a jackass sometimes.....
