"RUN! HOLY -- RUNNN!"

DAISY DOESN'T KNOW WHAT POSSESSED THE GROUP  to return to this place at night, a feeling that hung heavy in the air. The beams of her headlamp flickered slightly as she adjusted it, casting eerie shadows around them as they stood near the ambulance, preparing to search the site of last night's crash. She stood close to Deena, who stubbornly refused to wear a headlamp despite the darkness surrounding them.

"It's all tilted," Deena complained, her brows furrowing in frustration as she watched Daisy struggle to adjust the light. Daisy rolled her eyes and continued to try to fix it, key word: try.

"Well, you're just standing there," Daisy shrugged, trying to hide her annoyance.

Deena reached out, grabbing Daisy's hips and pulling her closer, the sudden contact sending a spark of warmth through Daisy. "Whatever, idiot," Deena said with a playful smirk as she finally adjusted the headlamp so it pointed straight ahead. "Was that so hard?"

Daisy rolled her eyes again but couldn't help the small smile that tugged at her lips. Turning to face the rest of the group, she noticed Simon jumping out of the ambulance, his energy infectious yet distracting. Deena sighed as she watched Kate put on her own headlamp, her expression a mix of disbelief and exasperation.

"I can't believe you're wearing that..." Deena scoffed, crossing her arms defiantly.

"I can't believe you're above wearing it when you're in the middle of the fucking woods and dead maniacs are after us," Kate shot back, her tone sharp and filled with urgency.

As they all started walking down the darkened path, Daisy kept close to Deena, who interlaced their fingers. For once that night, Deena wasn't acting distant or rushing to save Sam. Daisy felt a warmth spreading through her at this moment of connection, pushing away any pang of jealousy that tried to creep in. But then, her attention was drawn to the red car from last night, a reminder of their harrowing experience.

Sam moved in front of the door where she had fallen out, pointing at the ground. "So I fell out of the car..." she said, her voice distant as she dropped to her knees. "Here. I was crawling, and my nose was bleeding." She paused, her fingers brushing the ground until she found something buried beneath the dirt. "And then..." She hesitated, uncertainty creeping into her voice. "I feel something." With a sudden yank, she pulled out chains, their metallic clinks cutting through the silence.

"Chains..." Daisy echoed, leaning down to get a better look, her heart pounding in her chest.

"Oh! Not just chains," Simon exclaimed, his flashlight illuminating a grim discovery. "A skull. A human skull." The collective gasp that followed filled the air with dread as the reality of their situation set in. Josh tugged at something else in the dirt, his voice trembling slightly as he read the engraving.
