Midoriya Izuku adjusted his hero costume as he exited U.A. High, the setting sun casting a warm, orange glow over the campus. It had been a long day of intense training, and although he was tired, he felt a sense of accomplishment. As he walked, his phone buzzed in his pocket. He pulled it out, smiling when he saw the name on the screen—Y/N.

He read her message: "Can you come over? Rough day..."

Izuku's smile faded, replaced by a look of concern. He didn't need any more information to know she needed him. She didn't often ask for help, so when she did, he always dropped everything to be there for her. He quickly sent back a reassuring reply: "On my way. Be there soon."

It didn't take long for him to reach her apartment, his mind racing with thoughts of how he could help her feel better. He knocked on the door gently, waiting for the familiar sound of her footsteps. When the door swung open, he was greeted by Y/N's soft eyes, her shoulders slightly slumped as if the weight of the day still lingered on her.

Y/N was about 5'4", with H/C hair that framed her face in loose waves. Her eyes, which normally sparkled with warmth and curiosity, seemed dimmed today. She was wearing a cozy, oversized sweater that hung off one shoulder, paired with her favorite sweatpants—her usual comfort outfit when she needed to unwind. Izuku could tell right away that she had been crying; her eyes were a bit puffy, and she sniffled slightly as she tried to muster a smile for him.

"Hey," he greeted softly, his voice full of warmth. He stepped inside and immediately wrapped her in a tight hug, his arms encircling her waist. She rested her head against his chest, closing her eyes as she took in the comfort of his embrace.

"Hey," she mumbled, her voice muffled against the fabric of his shirt. "Sorry for calling you over like this. I just... I really needed to see you."

Izuku pulled back slightly, just enough to look at her face. He gently cupped her cheek, his thumb brushing away a stray tear that clung to her skin. "You don't have to apologize, Y/N. I'm glad you called me. I'm always here for you, okay?"

She nodded, leaning into his touch, and he smiled, pressing a light kiss to her forehead. He could see the stress etched into her features, and it made his heart ache. Y/N was strong, kind, and always put others first; it was easy for her to get overwhelmed, especially when she felt like she couldn't meet her own high expectations.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Izuku asked gently, his green eyes searching hers for any sign of what she needed.

Y/N sighed, pulling away from the hug to sit down on the couch. She hugged a cushion to her chest, looking down at her feet. "It's just... everything feels so overwhelming right now. Work was a mess, I had this huge project dumped on me last minute, and I feel like I'm failing at everything. I try so hard, but it's like it's never enough."

Izuku sat beside her, his expression soft and understanding. He took her hand in his, lacing their fingers together. "You're not failing, Y/N. You're one of the most capable people I know. And even if things are tough right now, it doesn't mean you're not doing enough. You're doing your best, and that's all anyone can ask for."

Y/N looked up at him, her eyes glossy with unshed tears. "But what if my best isn't good enough?"

Izuku shook his head, squeezing her hand a little tighter. "Your best is always good enough, Y/N. You have to remember that you're allowed to struggle. It's okay to have bad days. It doesn't make you any less amazing. And you don't have to go through it alone—I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere."

She gave him a small, grateful smile, wiping at her eyes with her free hand. "You always know what to say, don't you?"

Izuku chuckled softly, his cheeks tinting pink. "I just... I care about you a lot, Y/N. I want you to be happy. And if there's anything I can do to help, even if it's just being here with you, then I'll do it."

Y/N set the cushion aside and leaned into him, resting her head on his shoulder. Izuku wrapped an arm around her, pulling her close. They sat in comfortable silence for a while, the only sound being the rhythmic ticking of the clock on the wall. Izuku could feel her tension slowly melting away, replaced by the gentle rise and fall of her breathing as she relaxed against him.

"Do you want to watch something?" he asked after a while, his voice soft. "Or we could listen to some music, or just sit here. Whatever you want."

Y/N pondered for a moment, then nodded. "Can we watch something? Maybe one of those cheesy movies we like to make fun of?"

Izuku grinned, reaching for the remote. "Absolutely. I'm pretty sure we haven't finished making fun of the last one."

He pulled up their favorite streaming service, quickly finding a rom-com that they'd both agreed was hilariously over-the-top. As the movie started, Y/N shifted to lay her head on Izuku's lap, and he gently ran his fingers through her hair, letting the soft strands slip between his fingers. She closed her eyes, a small smile tugging at her lips.

"Thank you, Izuku," she murmured. "For being here. For always knowing how to make things better."

Izuku looked down at her, his heart swelling with affection. "You don't have to thank me, Y/N. I'm just glad I can help. And hey, anytime you need me, I'll be right here. You're never alone, okay?"

She nodded, squeezing his knee lightly. "Okay."

As they watched the movie, Y/N felt her worries begin to fade, replaced by the comforting presence of Izuku. He didn't need to say much; his actions spoke louder than words ever could. The way he held her, the way he listened without judgment, the way he made her feel like she was enough just as she was—it all reminded her of why she fell for him in the first place.

Izuku glanced down at Y/N as her breathing evened out, realizing she had dozed off in the comfort of his lap. He smiled softly, adjusting his position so she could sleep more comfortably. He wasn't going anywhere; he'd stay by her side for as long as she needed him.

As the movie continued to play in the background, Izuku gently brushed a strand of hair away from Y/N's face, leaning down to whisper softly, "I love you, Y/N. And I'm so proud of you."

Though she was already drifting in sleep, Y/N's lips curled into a small, content smile, as if she could still feel his presence comforting her even in her dreams.
