I made sure to wake up bright and early, I wasn't used to getting up at these times so my entire body just wanted to go back to sleep. However remembering what happened yesterday forced my body awake. I carefully escaped Dawns tight grip without waking her up, placing her arms around a pillow acting as a body double.
She looked even cuter when she was sleeping, I just couldn't help but smile. But right now I was holding her back if not for me she would of probably started making her way into the next route, but here I was still trying to get my first badge. I wasn't going to let her down. I put the covers back over her and walked into the bathroom.

I finished brushing my teeth and washed my face, looking at my face in the mirror. Today was the day I had to beat that gym. I had to prove Roxanne wrong plus now I had Dawn and Nurse Joy to show that I was worth it. If I was to complete my dream of becoming a Pokémon champion then I was going to have to over come this first trial. I took a deep breath before leaving the bathroom.
I threw on my jacket and quickly put on my shoes. I wanted to do this quickly so we could move on to the next area as fast as possible. I gave Dawn one more look before leaving the Air Bnb making sure the door didnt slam behind me.
The time was around 5:00AM, the air was cold even with my jacket but that couldn't bother me. The earlier I got up meant the more I could train before the gym opened. This was going to be different. It didnt take long before I reached route 1, looking down at my Poke balls. With one final deep breath I immediately ran into the tall grass.
Roxanne POV
8:AM
I drank my tea in silence. It was a Tuesday morning meaning no one would be in here. All of the residents of Boulder city were either working or at school. There weren't going to be any gym challenges yet. So all I had to do now was relax. It got kind of boring looking after the museum.
Sure I was the Gym leader but some times I dreamed of more. I began to reminisce about the lack of gym battles this month. My idea was that the notion of becoming Pokémon champion just wasn't popular anymore. During this month there had only been 6 gym challenges.
The boy with the Squirtle had proven to be an amazing trainer already, I could tell he had great potential. The girl from Sinnoh while lacking in some elements was sure to become big one day. But that Boy, while yes it would be a lie if I didnt admit he was handsome had way too much confidence and ego. The way he just walked in and didnt give a care in the world about the things I hold dear to me upset me greatly. I had to crush his confidence, a trainer like that wouldn't make it far if he wanted to become champion.
Roxanne: *Sigh* I wonder if I went too far yesterday.
I finally finished my tea, standing up and making my way out of the staff room. This museum was everything to me my whole life was the artifacts on display here. I looked at the same displays day in and day out, every time the miners brought in a new rock or fossil I immediately was enthralled by the minerals rich history. Some may say its boring but to me its the most fun ive ever had in my life.
