A blind date was never on Mukti's To-Do list, especially on a friday evening?

Way to ruin the weekend.

She collected her purse along with whatever was left of her patience before wiping her sweaty hands and exiting the car that had been parked in the basement of Hotel Royale for last fifteen minutes.

Located in the outskirts of delhi and nestled in the lap of nature, it was a vacation spot for the rich & wealthy, away from the hustle and noise of the city. The hotel was divided in three blocks- one for general guests, one for business conferences and parties, and one for the VIP members. Each block had a seperate design and building for it's guests.

She walked in as slow as she could towards the VIP lounge at the backside with pista in her arms. She'd brought the fur-baby to the date, wanting to make the meeting- the supposed date- as unromantic as possible.

That was also the reason she still had her office attire on her- A loose off-white shirt and brown dress pants. Her hair were secured in the bun she had messily pinned together in a meeting earlier.

An attendent led her to the table reserved under 'Mr Singhaniya'. Her grandfather had made sure everything about the guy was hidden, so much so that even the reservation was made under his own name.

He's a sadist for sure, spend an hour with a stranger to get an investment?

It sounds so wrong this way, but who does that? Okay, let's look at the positive side now mukti- a free dinner at the priceiest hotel of delhi and a 100 crores in your bank account.

(A/n- these are the kind of problems i want in my life *sniff*)

This was her attempt at convincing herself as she sat in the plush chair. She took a deep breath and tried to divert her attention to the surroundings instead.

The hotel had a different vibe from the cafe she usually frequented. The tables were placed far from one another and you didn't have to stand in a queue to order. There was also this flowery, almost creamy scent in the air, setting the space apart from rest of the hotel. A melody was playing in the background, loud enough to be heard, but soft enough to not disturb anyone.

The quiet atmosphere eased her nerves.

Maybe it's a good thing, after all. Judging by the hype, food here must be delicious too, and what's a date anyway? An hour would pass before I know it! But what if doesn't- what if I have to marry this guy? Then what about my oath to stay away from marriage? what about my plan to save crores?...What about that guy from cafe? came a small voice from the back of her mind.

NO. Not again, Mukti. Not again.
Focus. No men and no heartbreak. Just a blind date. Think of it as a business meeting over a meal. Yes, a meeting, and you don't even have to engage in a conversation.

"what do you think, munchkin?" she petted the kitten in her lap, trying not to stray into the abyss of memories. she watched as the feline closed her eyes, curling into her lap and her eyes stung.

"probably the perfume here."

"Meeeoooww"

"so you agree as well?"

"Mew"

right! It's not the time to retrospect. it's the time to secure my investment!

Enjoy the dinner. Ignore the guy. Get the money!

Enjo-

"Excuse me?" came a voice from her right.
