lexi's pov
my heart race had reached it's peak. beating faster than it should have. all sounds around me seemed to fade away into the background and all i could hear was the pounding of my heart and my heavy breathing.
don't panic, don't panic. i told myself in my mind repeatedly.
now my history with andrew davila wasn't something i wished to remember. at all. but how was i supposed to when i would see him often and would have to have some sort of interaction with him. either through amp videos or being at the amp house in general. bringing back those memories i thought i had buried deep down within me.
he was now standing in front of me. his cologne engulfing my sense of smell. he was looking good as always. his hair looked disheveled but good in an essence. his outfit was simple, consisting of a black t-shirt and jeans, paired with black and white jordans.
despite his simple attire, he never failed to look breath taking to me.
now andrew and i were once in a relationship. but our relationship was short lived. lasting for a span of two weeks. but our relationship was secretive, meaning that no one knew about it except the two of us.
and during that short span, a lot of things took place.
it all started at a party. parties can be the quintessential place of starting something you never thought would happen.
at this particular party, we ended up being alone. and even though we were sober and vulnerable, one thing (a kiss) led to another.
and then we had confessed to each other about our true feelings for one another.
and from there, it's like we got attached. we couldn't deny our feelings for eachother.
but all good things must come to an end right? our separation was something we never saw coming.
we had separated because things got complicated, things just never seemed to work out and so we had split.
but the connection was still evident and it was hard to ignore.
we stayed in our positions, our eyes locking and never leaving each others. the silence between us was palpable, where you could cut a knife through it.
there was a lot of unspoken words left to say.
"hey, you came" he said, his expression unreadable. i nodded subtly, "yeah". "uh, how have you been" he questioned trying to stir up a conversation which was a feeble attempt if i had to admit.
"ok...i guess" i paused briefly. "uh, i have something to tell you" he spoke hesitantly, scratching the back of his neck.
i raised an eyebrow. what could he have possibly wanted to tell me. "and what would that be?" i queried.
as he opened his mouth to speak, out of no where, jaden revealed her self with a solo cup in her hand, stopping whatever he was about to say.
i tried to contain the anger and irritation i felt as i glared at her. "heeey" she called out, resting her hand on his shoulder.
i couldn't help but scan her outfit. it was a short tight fitted dress that hugged her body perfectly, showing her curves and a bit too much cleavage.
then the atmosphere fell quiet again.
her smile faltered instantly as she sensed the tension. "umm, what's going on here" she probed, narrowing her eyes at me.
jaden and andrew were just friends as andrew had told me but i couldn't help but think that they were something more than that.
"uh.. nothing" andrew responded, shrugging her hand of his shoulder. "well there's definitely something, you're with - her" she pressed further, her voice dripping with disdain at the word "her". i watched as she folded a fist by her side, her hand twitching.
i rose from the couch. that was my que to leave before things escalated.
i walked away, glancing at andrew with rage and hurt. "as you heard him say, there's nothing happening so just leave it at that" i retorted to her as i was about to walk pass her.
and i left the party, entering my car, then i drove off.
upon arriving home, i shut the front door with a thud, tears threatning to fall.
there was something going on between them and it was obvious. it shouldn't have mattered to me, afterall, we weren't together anymore. but it still hurt, to even see him with someone else.
i took a warm and lengthy shower, letting the warmth soothe me, hoping to relieve my mind from thinking about them, but it was too hard to even try.

BACK AT THE PARTY
"what the fuck was that all about" andrew confronted jaden, his anger rising.
"oh, so you're covering up for her" jaden reacted, her fists tightening, the skin on her knuckles turning white. "i'm not but what you did was wrong" he explained.
"i did nothing okay? nothing, so stop taking up for that bitch" jaden insulted. she was close to do doing something that she wouldn't regret.
"don't you fucking call her that, who the fuck do you think you are?" andrew replied sharply, his anger bubbling over.
they may not be together but he would never allow anyone to call her any insulting names.
"who the fuck are you talking to like that?" jaden spoke, taking a step closer.
they were starting to create a scene, eyes from all corners, watching them with curiosity and interest.
"jaden, stop, you're drawing attention" andrew warned, his jaw clenching.
"and does it look like i give a damn" jaden sassed, her voice raising an octave.
before things could go any further, someone from the crowd called out to her. "yo, jaden relax, let's go outside for a minute and take a breather"
it was Marco, her guy friend and he was tugging at her hand, but jaden didn't budge, she just stared at him, dangerous thoughts swimming around in her head.
eventually, he got her to go with him but jaden didn't leave before shooting him a glare that meant that she wasn't finished with him.
andrew stood there dumbfounded. he could not believe that all of this had unfolded in a way he didn't expect it to.
andrew walked over to the couch, plopping down on it. he tried to gather his thoughts. as he ran a hand through his hair, he could only think about one person, lexi.
