Madison's pov:
It was lunch time, I was tired, the teachers assigned us tons of homework and I just wanted to go home. There was also the fact that I was staying a few extra hours after school because of the history project and I was pretty sure that the Alexandre guy would do nothing. It could be selfish of me for thinking such thing but, after three weeks of school, I think I know what I am dealing with.
From my perspective he was always on the phone, it doesn't matter which class was, he was never really there. And that honestly shocks me. Our tests are starting next week and I just know that he doesn't know what we're studying in half of the subjects. But I'm not judging, he does him. While I work my head off for the project.
- Hey, Maddie. - My best friend, Ava, took me out of my daydreaming. - Woah, what are you so focused on? - She giggles.
- Oh, nothing too serious, just about the history project. Did Ms. Rebecca assign you that too?
- Yes, she did, but it isn't too bad because I am working with Brina. - Brina, also known as Sabrina, was our other friend - What about you, who are you working with?
- Miranda, Alexandre Miranda. - I answered her.
- Oh, the new boy, right? The brazilian one?
- Yeah, that one.
- Kind of ugly, not gonna lie. I thought all the brazilians were pretty, guess not this one.
- He is not even that bad, the bad thing is that I'll have to stay here the rest of the afternoon working on that stupid project! But I am so tired that I could lie in bed all day, and rot in my house for days. - I groaned - How do teachers have the audacity to send us so much homework and a project to finish if our exams start in one week?!? - I panicked.
- Don't worry. Maddie, it will all be alright, you got this! You always do! - Ava cheered me up.
We were sitting on a table when the school bell rang. Ava and I had the same subject, math, I loved it and she hated, thats the beauty of a friendship. We walked into Mrs. Frankling writing something on the board when we greeted him.
- Hi, Mrs. Frankling! - Ava and I said in unison.
- Hi, girls, good morning! - He said turning around while we noded and went to our chairs.
- From 0 to 10, how much do you think this class will be boring? - Ava asked me while holding an invisble microphone.
- 4, just because I miss my home. - I answered.
- Same, I just want to finish reading The Blood of Olympus, it's the LAST book from The Heroes of Olympus! Do you believe that???
- I do, considering that you read all of the Percy Jackson books in a week. Yeah, I think that's believable.
Some periods later, school finally ends and I head to the library. I sat in one of the available chairs on the table and waited for the boy to arrive, I took my book out so I could do some reading. I read 5, 10, 15, exactly 18 pages before he arrived. 30 minutes.
- Hi, hi, sorry for being- - He started.
- Late, yes. Don't worry about it, let's just finish this, alright?
- Alright, where do we start?
- Let's start searching. Grab your book and look for the definition of ancient civilizations while I search some names and origins.
- Okay, - he grabbed his book - what page?
- 194. - I answered - Hey, can you ask the library lady if we can use the computers?
