Moonlight's Mistake

We were on our way to the king's court to get our permission seal on the request letter , it had been pretty easy with with the help of Ellie to get our hands on this pretty piece of paper .

HERE COMES MAIDEN ELLIE WITH 2 TRAVELLERS FROM FAR AWAY LAND ........

The courtier announced our presence and we were finally facing the king ,

He's the king? A bit of suspicion rose in my mind because I imagined the king to be a bit better umm in physique not likely a big belly owning stout man .

I shouldn't stereotype like that , maybe he's very wise and supposedly doesn't like to go physically on the battlefield .

If he's the one ruling this beautiuful town which seems so secure , he must be a good ruler for sure . Outer appeance for sure decieves some times .

"Travellers I see , what you may need , The king may provide . "The poet of the court spoke .

"Your highness , These are 2 travellers from far away land and wish to settle back in this town seeing it's beauty and elegance . " Ellie spoke for us

I had prepared myself for some basic questions but it surprised me on easy it was to get the seal , the king just waved his hand to a scholar near him and he gave us the the seal on the letter .

Is that how things work here ?

We were hungry being exhausted from all the running from time to time , so decided to get a feast at a nearby restaurant

"I've found you a residence to live in for the while before you find a job , Considering the prosperity of the fields you join , you get a personal residence . "Ellie told us while eating her food

"We don't currently have the money to pay rent and neither can we assure the landlord of our employment within a fixed time considering we are new to the place . " I said .

"She's right , no one will provide us the place by the fact that we are pressumably strangers to them and they won't have an income for their state for quite a while . "

"It's my father's old estate . He asked me to rent it to you . "Ellie shrugged

"He did?!?"We both yelled in shock .

ellie choked on her food , shocked by our shock .

"Yes , It's a first that he has ever helped someone out of pure interest . "

"so we don't have to pay the rent ?"I looked a Ellie

"You do , but after you get employed . "

"Tell uncle that we are very grateful for renting his place to us . "

"He said you don't need to mention that . " Ellie happily smiled at us .

We followed Ellie to a pretty house , a bit too pretty . It's just that we were expecting something , how shall I say it . Ummm... shabby I suppose , We've never been good with houses before .

"How does it look ? Make sure to tell me if something is not upto your liking . I'll address those trifles to my father to make necessary arrangements."Ellie told us while walking into the house .

"That won't be necessary , It's already marvelous enough . Way far fetched of our liking . "Lucas replied .

while Ellie and Lucas chatted away about the interior of the house , I went out in the backyard for a quick breathe . I don't know why but I've been holding my breath for I don't know how long.

I had a view of the Bustling night market of the town , It was beautiful but there was something eery about the place almost as if telling me to run far away

But I wasn't going back , not now . Not when I've come so close to finding that DAmned man.

Ellie left the house after giving a quick tour and left us some food for the day , I don't know if I could ever repay her debt . She was just too sweet as a living being , maybe she was meant to be preserved , the purity , the innocence , just what we wanted to protect of ourselves but lost it in our journey of ragged and bare survival .

"So any ideas about getting a job , and maybe someideas for me ?"lucas asked

"I'll probably apply for the next batch of soldier recruitments , while you on the other hand have rusted your sharp brain that once existed and you can't even work in brothel considering how ugly you are My dearest brother . "
I smiled .

"Hahaha , A good joke sister , probaly you might need some oiling on those loose screws of yours . "

"MAybe you need a better pair of functional ears that you don't currentlly seem to have and maybe get the whole face changed afterall. "

"THat rusty old sword of yours that's been collecting dust should be donated out in the charity , maybe someone coould use the metal . "

"And what about that dirty pile of rubbish , sorry scriptures , donate them out and maybe someone will finally read them ."

when We were finally out of insults , we realised something , neither did I have My sword with me , neither did he have his scriptures .

we Were out in the wilderness of the strange town not so strange anymore , again we were left

naked .

I abruptly stood up and went into my room

I just want a peaceful race of my thoughts . What was I going to do? What will I do with my life here ?It's not like I don't know in what will I be finding my job but where , how and when was all too unsure .

I felt the cold wind rush inside the room through the open window , It was an icy night , I went near the window wanting to talk to anyone who's up above in the sky.

That's when I saw a piece of paper stuck on the side of the window .

It was a pamplet

A pamplet regarding a vacant post and it was hiring .

A vacant employment position in need for a milltitary assistance . \

I screamed around the house when he came running back into the living room from his bedrooom , I excitedly told him about the pamplet, the job , the employment and everything .

We discussed about it all night ,

I've never loved you for all you've given me but maybe finally you noticed that this girl wasn't getting anything from the pot of luck .

I think we might rebond if you keep my life like this .....................
