Jasmine's pov

He was wierdly scary , I don't know , it's just something about him that tells me not to mess with him to much or else well, he made it quite clear ,I'd be pretty much well uhh....dead. Just as deadly as he looked back in the forest , he seemed quite his part . It was a blur back in the forest neither did I put much pressure to remember . But now that I had to protect him I'd gotten a pretty look of him .

He was a polished man and wore a certain robe probably for nobles and important personnels .

I went back to Ellie's mansion to tell her family and my brother about me moving out . It was evening already and I decided to walk toaards my house.  I loved the evenings here , almost too perfect to be true , full of happy crowd and people bargaining to get hold of the markets .

"HEY!"

I punched the sudden interruption right in the face.

"OUCH!"

Lucas HAD BEEN THE ONE WHO yelled almost making me go deaf .

"I don't really see the necessity to yell, DUMBASS . "

"I see it and SHUT UP , let me talk . "

When I arrived the house , Lucas yelled with the same amount of sheer excitedness that I had wanted to.

We entered the house still fighting on our little incidence a few seconds ago.

"I'll talk first , younger ones shall get the chance first . "

"And in which book has this been inscribed as a rule , MIss YOUNG?"

"MY BOOK and SHUT UP !!!"

"OHHhhhmyyyyygodddddddd we're finally working again . GOd only knows how bored I've been these days . "

" Where'd you get the job ? Didn't think people would be so desperate that they would've needed to hire you out of all people  . " I pondered

Lucas grabbed his food from what I had brought back from the market and told his tale on how he went to the court , gave an examination and qualified as the head scholar .

"YOU BETTER BE JOKING ! HOW IN THE WORLD DID YOU LAND AS THE HEAD SCHOLAR ."

"Scriptures sister, they've done wonders and they continue to do so , study some yourself and maybe you'll get some sense knocked into that broken brain of yours . "

"Continue with that rubbish and you might not see tomorrow's sun , brother ."

I told him most of the part excluding the one about meeting Mattheo in the forest back then . I had to pack my stuff and was getting a place to stay , well Lucas reassured me that he would inform the general himself as he had to go that way . When we were both packed , we exchanged our new addresses , shared glances and well

"It's wierd not to see that ugly face of yours everyday ."He stilled

"Maybe , you'll get hand of that . "He answered

"Honestly , I might miss you more than I want to . "

"It's just 30 min I'll visit you every week ."

"Deal?"

"Deal. "

I traced my steps back to the huge grey mansion that shone in the moonlight .

As I entered the mansion , servant ladies were quick to grab my stuff and place them in my room , I wandered around a bit and then went to my 'chambers' as all others referred that room

well that definitely qualifies as chambers .

A luxurious room with silk sheets laid on the bed and a what a huge room was it  . Intricate patterns of gold on the walls and beautifully carved furniture . Just a delight to the eyes .

I settled in and unpacked my stuff . The servants knocked to tell me that the dinner was ready . Just perfect timing, this grumbling stomach of mine doesn't handle hunger very well .

Mattheo was already settled , I walked to the table and grabbed myself a plate with a juicy steak and some water .

"What's the plan for me tomorrow? "I asked while grabbing a big piece from my steak .

"You'll be coming with me to the smith and then the arsenal practice ring , you'll be training them from now . "

"Hmmm , I see . "

We ate our dinner in silence and my eyes pondered to the paintings in the room , there were many . So many that it would take me an hour just to count but one caught my eye , the biggest one in the room , it was a beautiful lady . She looked very familiar to me somehow , I must've met her when I came to this town last time . She seems a bit too familiar but everything from before is in a haze in my head . The vague details and just some bits lie in my head neither do I remeber the faces of people I met , it's wierd almost as if I was casted a spell on .

Mattheo had been staring me the whole time I was present . The intensity of his stare was making me nervous but I managed somehow not to utter a single word .

I didn't even realise till I raised my head that Mattheo had already left the table without a word .

I helped myself back into my so called "chambers" and just waited till I fell asleep , I just couldn't think of something to do .
