Y/N's POV:

"Y/N, Lubbock behind you!"

A hand grabbed my waist, pulling me aside. Suddenly, a large fist slammed into the ground where my feet had once been.

Panting, my heart pounded in fear, as I glanced up at the one who had saved me.

"Lubbock... thank you".

"You have to be careful Y/N".

The two of us surveyed our surroundings. It was chaos. Several human looking figures stumbled around, grappling with our comrades.

"What are they?" "They don't look human". I intertwined my fingers with Lubbock's.

'His hands are shaking'.

"They're corpses".

"C- corpses!?"

"Look there. That girl. She's the centre of it all".

I followed his finger, eyes landing on black haired girl, small in stature. Her black eyes darkened, as she raised her arms.

"Dance my little corpse dolls. Kill them all!" She wore a sinister grin on here face, which was quite the contrast to her pretty, innocent looking features.

A shrill roar erupted over the battlefield and the sound of footsteps shook the ground, disturbing the dust. I coughed, swatting my hand through the newly formed cloud.

A giant bone coloured beast loomed before us. The skeletal dinosaur-like monster obeyed the short black haired girl's commands. It roared again.

"Y/N, Lubbock, quit standing around! Susanoo and I will deal with the beast. You guys help the others!"

Shaken from our thoughts, Lubbock and I nodded.

"Don't hold back okay Y/N? I'll be supporting you from behind".

"Promise you won't get hurt".

Humming in response, the boy released my hand, "I'll protect you from harm, so go all out for me".

"Right".

The corpse dolls had managed to split us up into several small groups. Tatsumi, Akame and Mine tackled one groups of the dolls, Lubbock and I took on another, Najenda and Susanoo dealt blows to the dinosaur- like danger beast and Leone sprinted towards a cliff in the distance. Launching herself up the face of the cliff, she headed for the puppet master, who in the frenzy, had fled to a safe distance.

Cutting down another one of the dolls, I wiped my bloody blade against my thigh, readjusting my grip as the red liquid poured down the hilt, subsequently coating my hands.

I frantically glanced towards the green haired boy who fought beside me. His arms shook, as he diced yet another corpse into pieces, blood splattering over his cheeks. Panting, he wiped the sweat from his brow, leaving a bloody smear.

Suddenly, a shrill scream echoed over the battlefield. All eyes flicked towards the cliffs edge.

"Leone.." I breathed, heart pounding with fear. The once tough and feisty woman was now writhing at the feet of the black haired girl. Even from this distance, I could tell her face was contorted in agony.

"Y/N, don't get distracted! Leone will be fine!"

After what felt like hours, the number of corpse dolls had significantly decreased. My arms felt heavy, my skin coated in sweat, dirt and blood.

My eyes flicked to Tatsumi, who's opponent appeared to be on his last legs. Dealing another blow to the large ape, Tatsumi had managed to push him back towards the edge of the cliff, where Kurome still stood, Leone seemingly unconscious at her feet.
