Y/N's POV:
The sun beat down, an uncomfortable layer of sweat settling on the back of my neck. I dusted my hands on my apron and swiped my wet forehead against the back of my hand. Continuing with my task, I began patting the rich soil that coated the small flowerbed by the window.
A light breeze whipped through my (h/c) locks that were tied into a messy ponytail underneath a white wide brimmed hat.
"They look nice". I flicked my eyes towards the soft voice. Standing to my right, clad in a pair of brown shorts and soil covered white shirt was Lubbock. He clutched his straw hat that appeared threatened by the sudden gust of wind that whipped past him.
In his other hand he held a white watering can, small yellow daises painted across its face. He approached, as I returned to a squatting position by the small flowerbed.
"Thank you". "I hope they make everyone happy". I smiled, my heart relaxing at the sight of the stunning yellow petalled flowers.
Squatting beside me, the green haired boy began gently watering the newly planted daffodils.
"I'm sure everyone will love them. You've worked hard today Y/N".
My heart pounded at his heartfelt words. "Hey Lubbock, do you know what type of flowers these are?"
The boy tilted his head in confusion, before chuckling under his breath. "Sorry, I don't know much about flowers". He awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck.
Returning his laugh, I cast my gaze back to the flowerbed. I gently caressed one of the soft petals. "They're daffodils. They're said to represent rebirth and new beginnings. I'm hoping that once this war is over, we can start fresh. All of us together. We'll move to the countryside and begin the next chapter of our lives. A new chapter full of peace and tranquility". "That's my only hope".
Lubbock clasped the back of my hand. "That's a beautiful dream Y/N. And it's a dream that I'll be sure to make happen".
"Y/N, Lubbock, boss wants to see us!"
Mine leant against the doorway, peering down at the two of us.
"Get cleaned up beforehand though. You're both covered in sweat and dirt". Her eyes fell to the flowerbed. "By the way... the flowers are pretty". Her cheeks were coated in a thick blush.
"Gosh Mine, was that a compliment I just heard from you?" Lubbock smirked, approaching the pink haired girl who huffed in response. "In your dreams". "Now shut up and go take a shower".
I laughed at their childlike banter and dusted my apron off one last time before following them inside.

Lubbock's POV:
"Are you sure that's a smart idea? We'd only be provoking them even more". Akame leant her elbows against the table, her brows furrowed in worry.
"I know you're worried Akame, but it's the only way we'll be able to stop them". My eyes flicked from the black haired girl to Najenda, who stood with her arms crossed and back against the wall.
The atmosphere was tense. It had been approximately 4 weeks since our last encounter with the Jaegars and we were now involved in a heated discussion about our next plans. We had each spent the last month separately, resting and preparing for the next battle.
Our next target was decided. Tomorrow night we would attempt to assassinate Bolic, the spy working for Prime Minister, Honest. He's a powerful enemy, but we were determined to eliminate him before his attempts to end the Path of Peace's leader comes to fruition.
