The family lunch had gone off without a hitch.
The food was delicious, the conversation pleasant, and the atmosphere filled with warmth and camaraderie.
As the afternoon sun began its slow descent, the elders had retreated to the living room for a post-lunch chat, discussing everything from family anecdotes to future plans.
In the meantime, the three cousins—Gemini, Sea, and Tu—found themselves drawn to the pool area in the backyard.
The pool was shimmering under the afternoon sun, its blue surface sparkling with reflections. A gentle breeze rustled the palm trees, adding to the relaxed ambiance of the setting.
Sea, having slipped into a more casual mode after the formalities of lunch, was lounging on a poolside chair, his phone in hand.
Gemini and Tu were seated nearby, their legs dangling over the edge of the pool, their feet occasionally dipping into the cool water.
They were discussing their plans for the evening, trying to decide where to go for dinner and what other activities they might enjoy.
Sea's phone rang, breaking into the casual conversation. He glanced at the screen, noting that it was his secretary calling.
With a sigh, he answered, moving slightly away from the group to take the call privately.
The conversation was business-related, and though Sea's tone was professional, his body language suggested he was trying to make the call as brief as possible.
With Sea momentarily preoccupied, Tu seized the opportunity to turn her attention to Gemini. Her eyes sparkled with curiosity and a teasing smile played on her lips.
So, Gemini. Tu began with a playful smile, I've noticed something interesting. You've been unusually involved with this guy named Fourth lately. And the way you've been acting—protective, almost—makes me wonder. Why all the fuss over someone you hardly know ?
Gemini's eyes widened in surprise, and he shifted uncomfortably in his seat.
The question caught him off guard, and he struggled to find the right words.
It's not really... I mean, it's not like that. Gemini stammered, his gaze dropping to the pool's rippling surface. I've just been—well, there's been some stuff going on, and I felt like I needed to step in.
Tu's curiosity was evident, her smile widening as she pressed on. Step in? From what I've heard, there's been some drama with Nani too. It's like you're caught in the middle of a soap opera. Care to share more ? I mean, it's not every day you see someone so invested in someone they barely know.
Gemini's frustration was palpable.
He hadn't expected Tu to be so direct, and it only added to his growing sense of discomfort.
