The morning of Fourth and Pahn's graduation was nothing short of *absolute chaos*.
The apartment was a whirlwind of frenzied energy, people running in every direction, and the sound of things being knocked over in the rush to get ready.
From the kitchen, the smell of burnt toast mixed with the faint scent of hairspray, while laughter, yelling, and last-minute instructions bounced off every wall.
Fourth stood in front of the mirror, adjusting his tie for the umpteenth time. His face was a mixture of excitement and sheer panic.
The day had finally arrived-the day he and Pahn, his twin sister, were graduating college-but instead of feeling like the triumph he'd expected, it felt like the world was falling apart.
Pahn ! He shouted, his voice cracking slightly. We're late ! The ceremony starts in thirty minutes, and you still haven't found your shoes !
I'll be there in a second, I just can't find the matching pair ! Pahn's voice echoed from the bathroom, tinged with the stress of the situation. And I swear, this gown doesn't fit right !
Well, it's not like you're gonna grow taller in the next five minutes, just get in here ! Fourth called back, running his fingers through his hair, still trying to tame the mess.
Before he could take another breath, their mom's voice pierced through the chaos.
Fourth! Pahn! Get your butts downstairs, now ! Both twins froze, eyes wide, as their mom's stern voice echoed from downstairs.
She wasn't one to get stressed, but today was an exception.I told you. Fourth muttered under his breath. I told you we should've been ready hours ago. You're always so calm, Pahn! Fourth added, his nerves getting the best of him. I can't handle this ! Look at what's happening !
But Pahn only responded with an exasperated sigh from the bathroom. I'm trying, okay ? Can you just, like, help me for once ? This is your day too, remember ?I am helping ! Fourth replied, already pacing. By stressing out for both of us !
Just then, their dad's voice joined the fray, louder than ever. Pahn, are you done in there ? Fourth, you're not going to just stand there, are you ? The clock's ticking, and we're running out of time !
The whole house was on the verge of collapse as their parents, who had always been the calm, collected ones, were now scrambling to put out fires.
Mom was in the living room, trying to round up the guests who had arrived early, while Dad was desperately hunting for the car keys and Jimmy was still struggling with the patients at the hospital.
Mom, Dad, we're not going to make it if you keep... yelling at us ! Pahn called from the bathroom, but her voice was drowned out by the next round of shout.
