Sage's P.O.VIt's cold today, I think of the frigid temperature as odd, especially as we enter summer. I'm at home, my legs sprawled across the bed, when my parents walk in, they fill the room with urgency and nerves. I hate that feeling. My dad is quiet, yet my mom is ecstatic, her face alone makes me want to smile too. "Sage, your father and I are leaving for a bit, in a couple days. It's a vacation we're taking as as couple." She states simply, still grinning, my smile drops. I'm about to protest when dad speaks up.
"Honey, you know it's only for summer, and you are given full freedom, with your friends until we get back," he pushes his point onto my mind; and they both stand, waiting patiently for some kind of response. "Yeah, yeah, okay I'm fine with that." I say, begrudgingly, curling back to my diary, which was neatly tucked under my arm the entire conversation. My parents make haste in flitting out the room, surely off to go pack some bags.
I sigh, letting out the air from my lungs which were tainted in sadness. I was pretty sad to hear they'd go without me. I know they need couple time, but for the whole summer? My diary catches my eye and I open it up to a clean page, scribing some letters which spell out my sorrows.
Diary Extract No. 2
"I'm tired, it's cold, and guess what? Mom and dad are leaving. It's supposed to be a fun summer, but it's starting off really bad. Atleast my friends are coming over this evening, I honestly need a bit of a break from all the drama."
Thalia's P.O.V
My hands are on the steering wheel, and Robin is in the passengers seat. Behind me, our two idiots, Liam and Jane attempt to be cute. Selfies are snapped as I approach a red light. The inertia makes Jane's gem studded pink phone fly, but Robin's lightning fast reflexes catch the silicon dipped, neon pink device. Even I am impressed with my girlfriend's reflexes sometimes, but Liam is too. He calls Robin awesome, and high fives her, and Jane rolls her eyes, the blush on her cheeks much too prominent if you ask me.
My fists tighten around the wheel, and my eyes narrow in jealousy I did not yet discover. I didn't even notice the smirk on Robin's face as she saw Jane blush... I shook my head and breathed in, feeling Robin's eyes now on me. Because she wants me. Because I'm hers. I need to stop being so sensitive to my emotions.
We eventually pull up in front of the Aldaine household, and Robin flits out, scampering to my side, to help me out. I smile at her, proud of my girl. Liam hops out, ignoring Jane and runs up to the front door, knocking and entering without hearing a response, I quickly dash up the driveway to catch up him.
Jane's P.O.V
"Stupid bags", I think to myself, "Sure, you're filled to the brim with hot clothes, but do you have to be so heavy?!" Of course, everyone has zipped up the driveway to bounce into Sage's room, leaving me and my bags of clothes to share with Sage all alone. It's too heavy. I'm about to give up on a big, pastel blue bag when a bracelet clad hand wraps around mine, pulling me away from the trunk by my wrist.
I'm startled, but soon match the hand's to Robin's. I'm standing in front to the trunk as I turn to look up, I meet Robin's ocean shaded eyes, looking full of laughter and pride as she slips a slim finger around about six bags' handles and lifts it up with ease. She used her left hand to shut the trunk, and the same hand to point to the door, silently suggesting that we head inside. I nodded obediently, confused and a little dazed. I glance back at Robin's hand, seemlessly gripping the huge bags with ease, before trotting up the driveway.
I feel the need to swish my hips a bit more than usual as I walk up the slight incline.
Sage's P.O.V
I hear everyone tumble down my hall, and I see Liam, Jane and Thalia fall in line in front of my room. The door is wide open, and I can see Liam kicking a luggage bag. "Okay, why so much carry-ons in one hall?" Thalia questions, I shrug, telling them about how my parents about are leaving for the summer. They all rejoice in newfound freedom in the Aldaine residence, just as Robin walks in, carrying a flurry of pastel printed bags. I glance over it, with slight fear in my eyes and Jane bounces up and squeals. "Ooh! Yes, thanks Robin," she excitedly bubbles up with her high pitched voice, "I bought some cute summer styles for us, Sage!" She finishes, grin bright on her rosy cheeks. I smile excitedly as Robin gently rests the bags on the bed next to me. As a move forward to look inside, I slide my diary under my pillow, unaware that Liam was watching my hand as I did so...
Unknown P.O.V
I can see her, I can see them. All her mortal friends interacting, sharing emotion and material things. She seems to like both. It's an innocent scene really, if it wasn't for all the underlying drama that only I can see already. I'm going to make my move. And the emotions will raise like african locusts flying home. All flying up, frantically, in an array of pain and human feelings. To be quite honest, I can't wait.
