"Don't even think about running." Jay tied the stranger to a chair with his pants.
The stranger wriggled but couldn't move.
"Ahaaaaaa... this damn frog!" Jay leaped onto the bed, flailing at the frog in disgust.
The stranger's eyes darted around the room and then locked onto the frog. "Appa... where did you go? OMG... Appa!" The stranger began to sob, staring at the frog. Jay frowned in confusion.
"Appa... your son is here to take you," the stranger said, giving Jay an odd look. "Sir, I'm so sorry. I'm not a thief. I'm here to take my father with me."
"Father... what?!"
"Yeah, this is my Appa."
"Are you messing with me? How can a frog be your father?"
"Please, trust me, sir. This is my Appa."
"What the fuck?"
"Sir, you're new to this area, right?"
Jay thought for a moment with a puzzled frown. "Yeah, I'm new."
"This was our house before you moved in. After my father's death, we relocated. Yesterday, I happened to meet a fortune teller who told me that my father's reincarnation would be staying here as an animal. Since there's no animal at my place, I came here to find him."
"So, you're saying this fucking frog is your father's reincarnation?"
"Please don't be rude, sir. This is my father. He loved this house so much."
"So, that's why it kept coming back even after I threw it out? But I still can't believe it."Jay thought for a moment, scratching his head. "This is ridiculous. Why didn't you tell me this sooner?"
"Look, sir, I knew you wouldn't believe me. I had to see if my Appa was here myself," the stranger said, looking dejectedly at the floor.
"If you came here to get your frog, fine. Take it and leave," Jay said, clearly irritated.
"How, sir? I'm tied up," the stranger replied.
"If you're lying, you'll regret it," Jay warned with a menacing look as he loosened the pants around the stranger. He had to believe the stranger if only to escape himself from the frog.
"No, sir, why would I lie?" The stranger was freed, bent over to pick up the frog, and held it out. Jay pulled back in disgust. "Appa... I'm so sorry for leaving you here alone," the stranger sobbed. Jay gave him a sidelong glance. Suddenly, the frog jumped out of the stranger's hands.
"Ahhhhh...shit," Jay yelled.
"Appa, where are you going? Come back!" The stranger began to chase the frog but quickly failed.
[ONE HOUR LATER]
"Where is that fucking frog?" Jay muttered, scanning the area. The stranger shot him an annoyed look.
"What?" Jay shrugged.
"It's already midnight; Appa is definitely sleeping now; he always sleeps early. That's why we can't find him."
"Nonsense," Jay said with a poker face. "Give me your info. I'll get your frog once he wakes up." Jay smirked.
"Info?" The stranger looked panicked.
"Yes, information. Like your name, phone number, or address." Jay raised his eyebrows, clearly irritated.
"Why... I'll come back."
"I can't wait for you to come back. I need to get rid of this fu... uh, your father," Jay rolled his eyes.
"Then I'll stay here," the stranger suggested.
"What!"
"Yeah, just for one night. I'll take my Appa tomorrow." The stranger smiled. Jay looked at him with confusion. "Anyway... I'm Jungwon. Yang Jungwon. And you?" The stranger extended his hand toward Jay.
Yang Jungwon is a 21-year-old who finds himself adrift in life. Unemployed and without any particular ambitions or dreams, he's simply existing because he feels he has no other choice.
