The memory flashed vividly in Marina's mind. She sat at her desk, staring at the computer screen, fingers hovering over the keyboard. A prompt appeared: Yes or No. She hesitated, but eventually clicked Yes.
As soon as she did, the computer glitched. The screen went black, and then a blood-red message appeared:
[YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN!!!]
Marina's heart raced. The dim office lights cast long, unsettling shadows across the walls. The only sound was the faint hum of the computer.
Suddenly, the screen flashed again, revealing a woman with long black hair covering her face.
Her movements were jerky, unnatural, like something straight out of a horror movie.
"Come play with me,"
the voice rasped, echoing through the gloomy room.
Marina gasped, pushing herself back in her chair, but her body froze when she felt something behind her. A chill ran down her spine.
Cold hands wrapped around her head from behind. Long, tangled strands of hair brushed against her skin. The figure was right behind her.
"Come play with me... you have been chosen,"
the voice whispered into her ear.
Marina sat stiff in her chair, her breathing shallow. Sweat trickled down her forehead, her hands gripping the armrests. She couldn't scream. She couldn't move.
"Kekekekekeke..."
The eerie laughter echoed around her. The shadows in the office seemed to stretch and swallow the remaining light. The room felt colder, as though the walls were closing in.
Her vision blurred. Everything went dark.

Marina jolted awake, gasping for breath. She sat up quickly, blinking and trying to make sense of her surroundings.
This wasn't the office.
The room she was in now looked old, medieval. Wooden beams lined the ceiling, and the walls were made of stone. A large wooden desk was in front of her, cluttered with books, and there was an old-fashioned wardrobe in the corner. A single window let in faint light from outside.
"Huh? Where am I-?"

"WHOA!"
As she opened her eyes wider, she suddenly tipped backward. The chair beneath her gave way, crashing to the floor.
"Ouch!"
she yelped, landing hard.
"That startled me."
She rubbed her back with her hand, feeling the dull pain spread through her spine.
Before she could regain her bearings, something unexpected happened.
Out of thin air, a translucent window appeared before her, floating just above the floor. It resembled a typical game status screen:
