Unravel the Mystery with me

Episode- 7

The start of our investigation was not that great, but after all it was a start. 

It has been a hectic day for us. Setting up an investigation room is not an easy task. All thanks to Raven's uncle, we were able to find a place to keep our record. He had an empty garage which was filled with random stuff. Cleaning up the garage and arranging the stuff was really a big deal. Since Raven was helping me the whole day , we were able to complete it within a day, after all we needed a room to store the evidences and keep a track on case. 

Setting up the room took us a whole day so we decided to have dinner together. Since we both worked hard, we decided to treat yourself with dinner. We entered an Italian themed restaurant and took a table near the window. Raven picked up the menu and placed the order for both of us. I guess he was familiar with the surrounding  which is good. Now all I need to do was to wait for the food to be served.

Raven stood up from his chair and said "I will be going to the restroom. Don't even think of eating without me." His eyes starred deep inside my soul as he started moving towards the restroom.  Looking at his eyes I remembered, he was not quite comfortable about the idea of questioning the police officer. If  the rumors flowing around the town are true then they definitely had a past.

He came back and sat in front of me. The waiter placed the food between us. Raven served the food for me and placed the plate in front of me.

"You really obeyed me huh. Good girl." His hand went up to my head and started patting me gently. I could sense the calmness  flowing through his body. 

"Hey, are you fine about questioning the police officer?" I spoke what was on my mind. 

"To be frank no. You must have heard the rumors." A little laugh in his voice reflected his nervousness.

"I am sorry if my question made you uncomfortable."

'No it's fine. I knew this topic would come up some or the other day." He put down the knife and with a deep sigh he started his story.

"His name is Alex. I have known him since I was in primary school. He was my senior who I adored a lot. His soft and caring behavior towards me was something that attracted me the most. But one day all the trust and respect broke like shattered glass. He killed my uncle right in front of my eye and no one believed me. "

"Why did he killed your uncle?"

"Because he was investigating his father. His father is a billionaire who runs all the illegal businesses. I got to know that he came close to me just because he wanted to know what my uncle was up to. All those love that he gave me was false."

"I am sorry."

"It's fine. There is one thing  I am sure about, Alex is the one responsible for Lexi's death." The hatred and anger towards the police officer was reflecting from his speech.

 Analyzing the whole story we can take Alex as a prime suspect for the case. He has past with Raven's family and might have a motive, not to mention the kind of background he belongs to.

We completed our dinner in silence and Raven paid for the food. We left the restaurant and started walking in the direction of our house. An awkward breeze of silence was again blowing between us. 

"If you want I can interview him alone tomorrow." I was worried his scars would gain the surface.

"No I will go with you tomorrow. I will wait for you in front of your house."  

Raven left the doorstep of my house and started walking towards his house.
