The early September morning weather never felt so perfect against the Sergeants skin. It would always be scorching hot, or undeniably cold and wet due to the large amounts of rain fall in the enemies territory. Now, it was... Just right.

The sun was just rising and the birds were peacefully singing the world awake.

Usually for the past four years, Lauren has woken to screaming which meant someone had a nightmare of still being on the battlefield. It would start her day of new duties, surrounded by gun and fighting. But today... It started up a spark inside of her that she thought she had lost many years ago.

The long trails she discovered were full of the most beautiful scenery she had ever laid eyes on. The trees were green and happily dancing to her fast speed, and the waters of the lake was just waking up themselves. She didn't smell the usual burnt cigarettes and sweat from dirty soldiers, but now, it was the refreshing smell of morning wet cut grass.

Lauren lost track of how long she ran, but she hadn't stopped until she followed the smell of breakfast bacon which snuck its way up her nose.

People occupied the cozy small town diner called "Sadie's" which resembled the one in her favorite Back to the Future movie. It was colorful and old music was playing while the waitresses made their way around on roller skates.

"Hey stranger" The green eyed girl heard a voice approaching her table.

Lauren stood up respectively and smiled, "Hello Miss Cabello."

"Are you waiting for someone or?" Camila smirked but was surprise when Lauren walked over to the other side and pulled out the chair for her to sit. "What are you doing here all by yourself?" She asked, sitting down. "Did Mani give you her car?"

"No ma'am." Lauren sat back down on her side once more, "I ran here."

"You ran?" Camila raised an eyebrow, then giggled hesitantly before realizing that the girl was most likely not kidding. "Sergeant Jauregui, you do know that the house is almost six miles away from here right?"

"Oh" Lauren's eyebrows furrowed as she shrugged. "I run a lot so it wasn't a big deal. Plus everyone was still sleeping and I didn't want to wake them."

"You could've called me, ya know" Camila smiled sweetly. "Here, what's your number? I'll save it in my phone and I'll text you-" She stopped midway before seeing Lauren's facial expression. "Do you even have a phone?" The shorter girl tilted her head.

"No ma'am."

Camila chuckled, "You're really polite. It's refreshing, but not necessary around me. You can call me Camila and I'll call you Lauren like you wanted."

Lauren nodded, slightly smiling before looking back down at her menu. "Why are you here alone, if I may ask?"

"This is where I take my siblings out to breakfast every Saturday. They come hang out and live with me on the weekends before going back home to my parents." Camila looked over to the door, seeing two young children run through. "Here they are now."

The kids jumped into their elder sisters arms as a woman came in after them.

"Matthew and Sofia, what did I say about running where you're not supposed to?" She narrowed her eyes before hugging her daughter. Camila walked back over to the booth where Lauren stood patiently, smiling as they approached.

"Guys, this is Sergeant Lauren Jauregui. She is the brave woman that saved Dinah's life twice." Camila introduced. "Sergeant, this is my mother and little brother and sister. Sinu, Matthew, and Sofia."
