Things have changed in the small town. Everything seemed grey, and there was a feeling of doubt in the air. A month of the search for America's heroes have passed, which ultimately meant that without the government funding, the search and rescue missions will be stopped.

Normani fell into a deep state of depression. The girl who was once full of hopes and dreams was now... Gone. She locked herself in her room for hours on end and everyone else could hear her cry herself to sleep at night.

The love of her life was missing and the rest of the world was convinced that she, as well as the others, were already dead.

Camila on the other hand, had to be the stronger one. She did everything she could to raise money for the missions, but as each day went by, people started losing hope. And so did she.

She continued going to school and work. Vero and her started spending more and more time together, but the taller girl respectfully gave her space in her time of grieve since it would be inappropriate to ask her on a date. But Camila needed something to keep her mind off the possibilities of her girl friend.

The green eyed girl woke up to the sound of screaming. She was severely dehydrated and starving, and the amount of beatings she took was unbearable.

Dinah sat next to her, the same way they have been for a month. Tied up to single metal chairs in a dark underground room with one light hanging above their heads.

"Where's Private Zayn?" Lauren's croaky voice asked.

The Polynesian turned her head towards her Sergeant, revealing the black eye she received.

"They took him to the showers-"

"Akhris!" (Shut up!) A man with a ski-mask yelled out in Arabic with a gun in his hand.

Lauren despises every man apart of ISIS. The have brutally slaughtered many innocent citizens and did not spare the ruthlessness in their acts of evil.

Dinah, Zayn, and Harry, were all taken with her. In fact, Lauren wouldn't have even been in this mess if she hadn't purposely been caught.

Flashback

"RPG!" One of her Private's yelled out as the rocket passed right over their heads, blowing up parts of the building next to them.

"Man down man down!" He yelled into the radio as another soldiers body bled out.

"Keep firing!" Lauren yelled as she stealthily ran behind barricades, shooting the enemies with accuracy. "Another truck coming in from the North East!"

As she ducked down to reload her weapon, a grenade landed right next to the soldiers she was just talking to. She shielded her head with her arms as the blast struck. When she looked up, she came face to face with the remains of the fallen soldiers. It wasn't a sight she hasn't seen before, but the reality of it all was sickening every time.

"They just keep coming in," Dinah plopped her tired body right next to her as they continued to fire. "Zayn and Harry are going undetected on the roof to-"

Lauren looked over to her best friend who stopped mid-talk. There was blood coming from the left side of her body as she ducked down behind the barrier. Dinah used her right hand to attempt to patch up the bullet wound going through her shoulder, but there was no use since she had lost feeling almost immediately.

"Hansen," Lauren's worried voice came out as she continued to fire her gun. "Talk to me DJ!"

"Bu-Bullet wound through my left shoulder. I think it shot right through a ligament- I can't feel the entire left side of my body." Dinah's silent tears strolled down her cheeks.
