"Have you lost your mind?!" Maekar yelled at his father.
"Mind your tone, boy. I am your father, but also your king." Viserys pointed out.
Maekar had just heard that Rhaenyra was going to marry Heron, and he wasn't happy about the news at all.
"You understand that marrying Rhaenyra to Heron is the wrong move?" Maekar asked.
"Why is that, my son?" Viserys inquired.
"He won't make her happy. His faith is in fighting only." Maekar pointed out.
"Heron is a good lad. He'll make Rhaenyra happy. They're already fond of one another." Viserys smiled.
"What do you mean?" Maekar asked.
"The couple have been sneaking around to meet each other at the shrine for the last six months." Viserys said.
"They've been fucking under your roof!" Maekar yelled.
"No. Heron has not dishonored Rhaenyra." Viserys defended.
"How do you know?!" Maekar asked. "Did you witness this yourself?!"
"They told me, and I believe them." Viserys said.
"He's a whoremonger like his father." Maekar spat.
"You should be more concerned in finding a wife for yourself." Viserys told his son.
"Mayhaps I shouldn't and you could give the throne to Heron and Rhaenyras children now that you're so fond of the imbecile." Maekar spat.
"Maekar please." Viserys tried to reason, but Maekar left the kings chambers.

"Just think, in a matter or hours, my father will announce our betrothal." Rhaenyra happily said.
"We're all happy for you, Rhaenyra." Alicent said.
"Indeed we are." Laena agreed. She then looked at Alicent. "You should marry soon as well. My brother Laenor still doesn't have a betrothed."
"I'd rather wait until my father is ready to have me married." Alicent said. She still hasn't told her friends that she has feelings for Maekar.
"Mm. I've decided to try again with Maekar. I've come to understand that he's only hurting from the loss of your mother." Laena said.
"Are you sure?" Rhaenyra asked. "I mean no offense, but Maekar only cares about producing heirs."
"My son will soy the throne, and I plan to teach him, if Maekar won't. I love my father, but children learn from their mothers." Laena smirked.
"I hope you're right." Rhaenyra said.
Alicent started picking at her fingers. She was worried about how her friends would react when they found out about her visiting Maekar.
Dragonstone
Dragonmont
"Are you sure you wish to do this?" A man asked.
"We have to. Unless you wish to tell him that we failed?" Another man asked.
"No. Of course not, but what's to say we will succeed anyway?" The first man asked.
"I believe in our god. He is the one who will lead us." The second man said. He then killed the dragonkeepers guarding the dragons and threw something inside the dragonmont. "Heron Targaryen will come here. He'll have no choice but to." The man smirked.
