7. Revelation

Daniel

The day was mostly spent searching the classroom, hallways, and yard for the girl. Whose face I vaguely remembered. If time passes and I forget her?

No matter how much I looked, none of the students "clicked" for me...

I groaned in frustration.

- Daniel she may have been absent today and did not come to school. Maybe that's why we didn't find her!

Rachel speculated aloud.

- Yes, you might be right Rachel.

After school, we made our way back home.

At one point, Rachel said to me:

- Daniel, I have the impression that something has been following us for a while now.

She said softly. At that time I stopped walking.

- What do you mean Rachel?

Keep walking. I'm going to go check on something.

I did what she said. I felt strange without her by my side. I felt more alone. I hoped she would come by my side soon. Still I kept walking.

At some point she came next to me upset.

- Daniel! They're here!

- Who is here?

I don't know how... But... Remember those kids in the yard? Where did they start a fight?

- Yes.

- They're following you.

- That was it?

I answered more calmly.

- No. I don't know what exactly is going on, but they are not alone Daniel! I saw with them.... Demons!

I stopped frozen.

- What?

- Yes Daniel! I saw them clearly! I don't know but I think they found you! They found you! Demons found you!

I felt my heart pounding. Not from fear, but from adrenaline as people call it. Think. Out of excitement. It was as if I had forgotten that I was no longer an Angel, and was ready to rush into battle that I had missed so much!

But almost immediately I remembered that I had neither sword, nor wings, nor angelic powers. Yes. I was mortal. What would happen now? How would I deal with them? They had almost the same status as the angels. They were invisible to people. For half a minute. I too should normally not be able to see the angels from my Order and yet I saw them! So what does this mean?

I had a theory, but there was only one way to find out if it could be put into action!

I started walking determinedly until I reached a dead end.

- Hurry Daniel! Let's go, let's go back...

We went to turn around but they had blocked our exit!

I could see them behind the children! I didn't know what the kids were saying to me. I was trying to see what the Demons who were standing behind the children and arguing with each other would do. It was natural. Since they were demons. They probably haven't figured out yet that I can see them. Maybe I'd better pretend I don't see them. I was more worried about the kids getting hurt than me!

- Rachel, I see them!

- Really?

- Yes! But they probably didn't understand who I was. Otherwise they wouldn't stand like that indifferently and argue with each other.
