When I had woken up that day, I kept thinking about what had happened with Steve yesterday. My heart softened at the idea that Steve might have missed me, but I then remembered why he called me.

I chose not to let that get to me, so I continued with my day as I always would, get up, get dressed, go to the bathroom, eat breakfast, make sure Dustin had already done all those things, but today I was interrupted when the phone started ringing. I ran over to get it just in case it was Steve.

"Hello?" I said, rolling my eyes because I assumed it would be Steve. "Oh, hi sweetie, it's me, Joyce."
"Oh my god, I am so sorry. I thought you were someone else. What'd you need?" I asked, question why she had called so early in the morning, when most of the time she called after school to check if Will was here.
"Is Will there?" Called it. I almost immediately realized Will was not here, and I swore I saw him ride home.
"Um, no, sorry, he's not. Why is he missing?"
"Um, you know what? I think he just left early for school!"
"Oh ok, I'll ask Dustin to look for him at school!"
"Thank you so much sweetie, have a great day."

Although I was slightly confused after I remembered seeing him leave, I brushed that feeling off, I went to go grab my keys and was about to get Dustin when a honk outside the house stopped me. I hadn't asked any of my friends for a ride, so I genuinely had no idea of who it could be until I heard him yell "HEY DON'T PEE ON MY CAR!" to some poor stray dog.
What the actual hell was Steve Harrington doing outside my house.

I guess Steve summoned my brother because he came out of his room with the biggest smile ever.
"Please tell me that's Steve!"
"Yea, that's definitely Steve."
Dustin ran out the door like I'd never seen him run ever.
Reluctantly, I walked outside and up to Steve.
"What are you doing here?"
"I'm here to take you to school." He said it as if I was supposed to know this.
"Why? Cause I know I didn't ask you!"
"Hey, let's not start anything right now. Just look at Dustin's smile. You can't say no to a face like that!" As much as I wanted to argue with him, I actually agreed with him for once.
"Fine, but this is a one-time thing. I don't want to see you out here tomorrow morning!"
"Whatever you say, cutie!"
