"Understood!" Lin Yunxiao clenched her small fists. Clearly, the recent events had also vexed her.
"However, given what has happened, I'm afraid I might be expelled," Lin Yunxiao said with a note of worry.
"Don't worry about that! With me around, no one dares to expel you! Just focus on enjoying your time at university. Academic performance isn't important; what matters is your happiness," Lin Feng reassured her.
"Brother... it's so wonderful to have you," Lin Yunxiao said, her eyes reddening as she recalled her past experiences. Then, abruptly changing the subject, she continued, "Brother... you're already thirty-two; you should find a wife. You can't remain single forever. Mom and Dad would be very upset if they knew."
"Silly girl, now you're worrying about me!" Lin Feng said, affectionately ruffling his sister's hair. His thoughts, however, drifted to Chen Yinuo. A resolution should come tomorrow.
"Brother, why not let Xiaoke be your wife?" Lin Yunxiao suggested suddenly.
"Xiao Yao, what are you talking about!" Li Xiaoke said, her face showing irritation as she raised her fist to strike Lin Yunxiao, but her eyes involuntarily glanced at Lin Feng. Upon seeing his indifferent reaction, she felt a pang of disappointment.
"I'm not speaking nonsense! My brother is so wonderful; anyone would be fortunate to have him!" Lin Yunxiao said with a playful smile.
"Hmph! You keep talking!" Li Xiaoke pouted.
"Alright, you two young ladies are still so young. Focus on your studies and stop thinking about these frivolities!" Lin Feng interrupted their playful banter with a sigh. Although Li Xiaoke was lively and charming, he saw her as a sister. He had no romantic interest in her, and his mind was solely occupied with Chen Yinuo.
At that moment, a group of people rushed over from a distance—about a dozen in total. Each one appeared formidable and efficient, causing pedestrians to step aside, their presence imposing. Leading them was a middle-aged man dressed in traditional Tang attire. He had a beard, his temples graying, and his face exuded an air of unspoken authority.
"Xiaoke, who did this to you? Tell me, and I'll have their life!" Li Ruhai stormed forward, his tone fierce.
Lin Feng frowned upon seeing this. This middle-aged man was Li Xiaoke's father? And he was a practitioner at the early stage of the Earth Realm!
"You're really something; everyone has already left, and now you show up!" Li Xiaoke couldn't help but mock.
She had indeed informed this irresponsible father, but the delay in his arrival only added to her frustration.
"Left?" Li Ruhai's expression froze. He had rushed over as quickly as possible, but with the Li family located fifty kilometers west of the city and traffic delays, he had arrived late.
"Indeed! Fortunately, Uncle saved me! If you had arrived any later, I might have been beaten to death!" Li Xiaoke said coldly.
Lin Feng was taken aback by this display. Why was Xiaoke so indifferent towards her father?
"Did you save my daughter?" Li Ruhai turned to Lin Feng and asked.
Lin Feng nodded in acknowledgment.
Upon hearing this, Li Ruhai signaled one of his subordinates, who promptly produced a bank card from his bag.
"Thank you for saving my daughter. This card contains five million; consider it a token of my gratitude!" Li Ruhai said.
Lin Feng glanced at the bank card but did not take it.
"What? You think it's too little?" Li Ruhai furrowed his brow.
