Amelie

Fury courses through me as I wake, that absolute piece of work thought he could play me?

Hell fucking no.

I'm getting my payback and it is going to be absolutely delicious. How will I do that? Well, I'll turn to my most destructive friend: Landon King.

Yuto just started a war with someone who refuses to be stepped on and I won't be his pawn.

Saying goodbye to Ari, I go to the Elites mansion to find Landon. If anyone knows a way to humiliate Yuto, it's him.

As I drive through the winding roads leading to the Elites mansion, my thoughts bounce from fury to determination. The smooth hum of the engine mirrors the thoughts racing through my mind. Yuto, that insufferable king of mischief, truly thought he could manipulate me and get away with it. All he's succeeded in doing is igniting a fire within me that demands retribution.

I turn off the engine, my heartbeat drumming loud in my ears as I step out of the car and make my way up the wrought-iron steps to the mansion. The grandiose façade—with its towering columns and intricate stonework—seems to mock my fury as I push open the heavy door. Inside, the air is thick with an intoxicating blend of adrenaline and the faint scent of expensive cologne mixed with something darker, something inviting.

I spot Landon lounging on a velvet settee, a glass of whiskey in hand, chatting with Alistair and Creigh. His carefree laugh cuts through the tension swirling inside of me. He notices me first, and his smile broadens, the kind that makes him either utterly charming or infuriatingly smug.

"Amelie! To what do I owe the pleasure?" He leans forward, resting his elbows on his knees, amber eyes sparkling with mischief. "You look like you just walked a mile in the fires of hell."

"Very close," I reply, crossing my arms over my chest. "I need to talk to you."

Lan stands, sauntering away and into his room, flicking his wrist for me to follow him. Creigh is absorbed back into his phone along with Alistair, who's probably stalking my eldest cousin Eli. I guess stalking runs in the family between him and Ari.

"Yuto has decided to make my life a living nightmare, and I need your help." I state after following Lan.

Landon raises an eyebrow, curiosity mixing with that familiar mischief. "I assume you're not talking about a simple chat?"

"No, I need a plan. I want to humiliate him." My voice trembles with the thrill of the idea. Yuto had crossed a line, and I wouldn't back down, not now, not ever.

He leans back, considering. "A noble mission. Wreaking havoc on that smug face of his will be quite the challenge, though."

I smirk at the thought of it. "I'm counting on you to be the mastermind here, Landon. I've had enough of being Yuto's pawn."

The room quiets down around us, the laughter of his friends fading into the background as Landon nods, his expression shifting from playful intrigue to earnest concentration. "Tell me exactly what he did."

I take a deep breath, recalling the situation that had ignited this fury. "He made a mockery of me. Asked me to attend a charity event which turned out to be the Heathens fucking initiation. He chased me like I was some helpless damsel." The words spill out, bitter at the remembrance. The thought of my cousin Alicia flashes through my mind, she was there too, I remember seeing her.

"He did?." Landon chuckles—a dark sound filled with memories and shared secrets. "Yuto is formidable. You might need more than just words to cut him down to size, Amelie."

"Then let's think bigger," I say, my voice low and serious. "What would hurt him the most? What would make him feel humiliated?"

Landon leans forward, excitement glinting in his eyes. "I've got an idea...and it's deliciously diabolical."

A shiver runs down my spine. I can't help but feel a rush of adrenaline mixed with anticipation. I'm ready to embrace this dark plan, whatever it may be. We share a wicked grin, and for a moment, I forget the pain Yuto has caused me. I feel powerful, like I might actually have a chance to turn the tables.

"First, we need intel. You must infiltrate his inner circle. His weaknesses, his secrets—everything you can find. That's our key," Landon explains, his focus unwavering. The calculated seriousness in his tone ignites that fire in my belly again, but this time, it feels different. Electrifying.

"How do I do that?" I ask, intrigued.

Lan leans back, taking a sip of his whiskey, his gaze turning contemplative. "You flirt with danger, dear Amelie. Get close to his friends, go where he goes, and charm your way in. Make them trust you. As they say, keep your friends close—and your enemies' enemies even closer."

I can feel the thrill washing over me. The thought of delving deeper into Yuto's world, playing his game, all while plotting my sweet revenge—it's intoxicating. "You're suggesting I seduce him?"

"More or less." His smirk widens. "And who knows? You might even enjoy it."

My stomach twists at the thought, but I swallow the fear. It's just a means to an end, a small sacrifice to regain control. After all, there was no love lost between Yuto and me. Only a desire for my freedom.

As the night unfolds, Landon and I plot together, mapping out my infiltration strategy. Hours pass, filled with laughter and dark humor—a strange camaraderie formed over a shared desire for revenge. In our schemes, I can briefly forget the pain Yuto has caused, the way he toyed with my feelings as if they were nothing more than a casual game.

When I finally leave the mansion, the cold air bites at my skin, but it feels refreshing—a reminder of the reality I'm stepping back into, one that may soon be altered by my plans. The moonlight casts an ethereal glow on the road ahead, illuminating the path to a war I'm now prepared to wage.

As I drive home, visions of Yuto's face—smug, infuriatingly handsome, and utterly infuriating—fill my mind. Determination settles in my heart. The game is on, and I refuse to be the victim any longer. I will be the player, and I will play to win.

I can almost taste the sweet victory waiting for me on the other side of this chaos, and it's going to be absolutely delicious.
