Daniel sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose.
"This isn't exactly up to debate, Ethan." the dark-haired man tried to explain.

Ethan swallowed, wrapping his arms around himself. Daniel had informed him so he wouldn't be startled when they got the supplies. Waking up with wet sheets was the last thing the man wanted Ethan to look forward to along with his anxiety.

He ran his hands through his hair. Max had been right. Ethan wasn't going to be reasonable regarding his health, that was the reason they had taken him in, in the first place. They wanted to help and it was about time they reinforced that promise.

"It won't happen again, I promise." Ethan's voice came and Daniel frowned. The poor kid was misunderstanding everything. They weren't blaming him for having accidents, they just wanted to keep him safe and comfortable.

Sighing, he mentally noted to discuss with Max and opened his arms for Ethan. "Fine, it's still early, how about we catch up on some sleep and have breakfast? Alex should be done cooking by then."

Ethan frowned, cautiously moving towards Daniel who wrapped him in his embrace. "I'm too old for this," He mumbled, his body betraying itself as his eyelids fluttered close.

Daniel bit back a chuckle. The brown-haired boy could never be too old for them to take care of.

The next time Daniel woke up was to someone tapping him. "Alex?" he rasped.

"Hey! You slept like a log," the brown-haired man chuckled, "Food's ready and Max went shopping, he refuses to tell me what it is though," Alex glanced at Ethan. "But I have a strong feeling it has something to do with Ethan and I demand to know."

Even though there was no heat behind his words, Daniel agreed with Alex. The man deserved to know as they were in it together.

"Ethan," he lowered his baritone voice, "has been having accidents. So we decided to get some pull-ups, but he's not taking it easy."

"Oh no," Alex's face fell and he reached for Ethan. "He's lost a lot of weight too," he added as he swooped him up. "Must have been very tired,"

"Yes, his sleep got interrupted twice yesterday," Daniel yawned and got up. "I need to go to the office, can I trust you to bring Ethan in? I don't it would be great for him to stay at home alone from now on, what do you think?" Daniel added, strolling into the bathroom.

"You have a point." Alex adjusted his hold on the twenty-year-old and started walking away. "I'll drop him at yours or Max's cabin when I reach the office, should I pack lunch for you? Cause it seems like you're skipping breakfast?"

"Sure, yeah!" Daniel called out as he closed the bathroom door.

Alex took quick strides into his bedroom and laid Ethan on the bed. After he was sure the boy was settled, he left to get ready.

Ethan stirred awake a few minutes later and frowned, glancing around. He couldn't remember coming to Alex's room.

"Alex?" he called and mentally facepalmed when he realized someone carried him. Again.

Why couldn't they just wake him up and let him walk like a normal twenty-year-old?

"Yeah, buddy?" Alex called from his wardrobe, strolling out with his suit jacket in hand. He was already dressed in a blue three-piece suit, all he had to do was throw on his suit jacket.

"You don't have to carry me next time," He mumbled, throwing his feet off the bed. Ethan started walking toward the door. He planned to spend the rest of the day cleaning the house or cooking a dish for when they returned.

Although they had told him it wasn't needed and he didn't have to handle so many chores around the house since they were getting a maid soon, Ethan wanted to feel useful.

"Oh, alright," Alex responded, "Just make sure to get dressed in a bit, we're going to the office."

Ethan frowned. In any other situation, the prospect of him working would have thrilled him. However, with how overbearing they have been later, he smelt foul play.

"Office?" he scrunched up his nose and Alex bit back a smile at how adorable he looked. "Why? I always stay home and you said that the finesse project was done, why... are you dragging me to the office because you don't trust me to be alone? Why can't you guys just stop treating me like a child?!"

"No one is treating you like a child," Max said
from his place at the door. He had initially come to inform Alex that Daniel was ready and they were about to leave, only to overhear Ethan throwing a brand new tantrum. "So stop sulking and get dressed like an adult. Daniel's already waiting in the car."

Ethan tightened his fists and turned to Max. "Well all of you can leave, because I am not going anywhere!"
