They weren't just sobs, they were jarring, heart shattering screams and cries and Daou could do nothing but listen.

He was supposed to be dead. His thoughts began running through his head, he needed someone to call cut. Road's sobs were guttural, coming from deep inside of him. Daou needed to check on him, to go to him. He'd never heard Road cry like this. Someone call cut, he was pleading silently, Surely you've got enough now. Call cut. Call. Cut. He was about to just forget it all and jump up, to yell at them to call cut, that Road needed help. That he needed to breathe, that he needed to be held.

Then someone had finally called cut and Daou sat up, immediately going to Road's side, pulling him into his arms. Road was still crying, tears were streaming down his cheeks. Everyone else melted away.
"Road," Daou said his name softly, touching his face, wiping a streaming tear. "Deep breaths."
Road looked up, meeting Daou's eyes as he struggled to catch his breath but still trying to take deep breaths as Daou was instructing him.
Daou smiled at him softly, stroking the hair back from his forehead. "Hi baby," he mutters softly. Road leaned his head against Daou's chest, closing his eyes and taking Daou in, trying to get his brain to stop running a million miles a minute.

Daou's hand pressed against Road's cheek softly, his thumb brushing over his skin lightly. He bent to look at Road, muttering soft, soothing words to Road. There were tears still streaming down Road's face as he took deep breaths, hiccuping, as sweat plastered his hair to his forehead.

In trying to get the emotions for Wee to feel and look real and raw, Road had deeply upset himself. To be honest, Road didn't know if he'd be able to let Daou go for the next five to seven business days— okay, a little bit of an exaggeration, but he would need to have Daou close for the rest of the day, at least.

Road still has his face pressed against Daou's chest, finally semi calmed down. Daou had moved and Road had gone with him, unable to let go just yet. Daou was talking with the director and staff, holding Road close to him as he ran his fingers through his hair. Daou could still feel Road shaking against him.

Everyone had been so apologetic that this had happened, but Road had done his best to assure them that it was okay. Either way, the decision was made to wrap filming there for the day and now Daou was just going over some last minute things before they could go home.

Road gripped Daou's hand tightly the entire drive home, except for when Daou needed both hands to steer.

They'd made it through the front door and Daou had put Road on the couch, going to get some warm water and a towel to wipe Road down, hoping that it might help him to feel better. Daou might have even noticed before Road did that tears are falling again.

Daou stops, setting the bowl and towel aside, looking up to meet Road's eyes as he holds his face in his hands, pressing a kiss to his forehead.
"Take a deep breath, Road." Daou instructs softly, moving to sit beside him on the couch.
Road nods, leaning forward and burying his face in Daou's neck. "That was really hard," Road manages to say before his body starts shaking with sobs again.
Daou blinks back his own tears as he kisses the side of Road's face, rubbing his back gently. "Ssh, I know baby. You did so good."

Road couldn't explain further, he couldn't think about it. Instead, he cried on Daou until he couldn't cry anymore— until he was out of tears and then he just sat against Daou for a while, taking deep breaths.

Road looked at Daou standing in the kitchen, a soft smile coming onto his lips. He thought he had finally calmed down for good now.

Standing up, he walked towards Daou and grabbed the front of his shirt, pulling him close as he looked up and met Daou's gaze.

He smiled at Daou. "Thank you." He murmurs, the sparkle in his eye returning as he smiles again at Daou.
Daou put down the spoon he was holding, wrapping his arms around Road and lifting him onto the counter, pulling him to the edge as he rested his forehead against Road's. Daou returned Road's smile, slipping a hand under Road's chin and lifting it up towards his own face. "Baby, don't thank me." He says as he brushes their lips. Daou feels Road's lips moving into a smile. "I love you," he adds, murmuring it against Road's lips.

Road takes the kiss in, his arms wrapping around the back of Daou's neck. He lets Daou take the lead (mostly), wrapping his legs around Daou's waist and swallowing the groan that comes out of Daou's mouth when he does.

Road mumbles Daou's name into the kiss, pushing back just a little. Daou looks at him, brushing hair from his face with a smile.
"You are so beautiful," Daou mutters, kissing all over his cheek. "I love you so much."
Offroad beams at him, kissing the tip of Daou's nose. "I love you, Ou."
