misidentifying the nerd

Mall

Nat's POV

When I woke up it was 11 AM. Later than I usually get up but I didn't care I was not in a good mood. I was still pissed about last night. SO when i got up i made my way to the bathroom and stripped down and stepped in the shower not caring about the cold water or the fact i didn't get clothes. I want to cool down and that's precisely what it did. once i finished showering i grabbed a couple towels. I wrapped one around me and used the other to dry my hair as i walked back to my room and closed the door. I flopped down on my bed and grabbed my phone. I quickly texted Jessy.
'Mall. Be at my house in 10.'
Not waiting for his answer before i got up and grabbed random clothes and threw them on. I ended up wear a plain black tank with a dark gray hoodie and a pair of jeans. I threw my hair up into a ponytail think of leaving off the beanie. Today as usual it was hard to tell I was a girl my hoodie easily masking my curves. I then grabbed my wallet, keys, and phone, but before leaving the room I grabbed my beanie and heading down stairs. I got an apple on the way out the door. As I walked to the garage I saw Jessy come out. I glance out to the street and saw Chace's car was long gone. Jessy noticing my glace spoke up.
"I sent him home hours ago. so the mall huh? You driving i presume." He said noticing me opening the garage door.
"Yup going shopping for my birthday, and Yes I'm driving should actually get some use out of my beautiful baby sometime." I say as I walk to my car. A beautiful Black '69 camaro that my mom bought for my 16th birthday as an apology gift for never being around. No one even knew I had it since jessy pretty much drove me everywhere. As I buckle up and start the car Jessy gets in eye me once over.
"what's with you stop staring you've seen me like everyday since we were five." I say turning to him
"Oh it's just you're dressed like usual are you actually going to take my advice?" He asks with a sad smile. I let a breath before pulling out and start driving down the road.
"Actually yes I am. I've decided enough is enough everyone is going to know Natalie Chambers by graduation if it's the last thing i do." Say with a smile as i turn on the radio. Jessy doesn't say anything just smiles even bigger, as we made our way to the mall.
Once at the mall we head out to buy me new clothes that actually fit. after a while of buying new pants and Jessy picking out a bunch of shirts from Hot Topic. After Hot topic we got some food and just walking around until we were outside a salon. In the window was a mirror and around it was pictures of teens modeling hair cuts. As I looked at myself in the mirror i decided I should get a hair cut. Before i could say a word Jessy Knew exactly what I was thinking.
"Go on in while you're there I'll walk around I still need to get you a gift." He said as he pushed me in with a big smile before running off. I went in and talked to the lady at the counter and was escorted in quickly and sat down in a chair as pulled off my beanie. The stylist took out my pony tail smiling ear to ear as she looked at my long hair that fell down past my shoulders.
Just as i finished paying for the haircut I saw Jessy walk up outside.
"all done?" he asked smiling down at a bag in his hand
"Yeah want to head home?" I ask as he looks up at me his eyes grow big
"Wow Nat you look amazing!" He gushed reaching over to play with the ends of my hair. The stylist hadn't cut much she loved my hair too much so she trimmed it gave me long side swept bangs and a bit of layers then styled really nicely. I couldn't remember the last time i had cut my hair but I loved it and the beanie was long forgotten in one of the many shopping bags. When we got home it was late so I decided to cook us dinner. After we were done Jessy was bouncing in his chair with excitement.
"What is it jessy?" I ask with raised eyebrow
"Sorry I just can't wait please open my gift now." He say thrusting the bag he had at the mall into my hands. I look down slowly opening the bag to see a bundle of black cloth. As I pulled it out i saw it was the most beautiful dress i had ever seen. It was a black dress with a corset styled halter top and sheer lace skirt. to me it was the most amazing thing i had seen. I jumped into Jessy's lap hugging him to death.
"Oh! thank you jessy it's beautiful!" I thank him getting up hugging the dress to me it was the first dress i had ever owned and i knew exactly when i was going to wear it.
" well I'm glad you like it, how about you wear it Monday at school?" He said standing up and gathering his things.
"I was already planning on it. So you leaving?" I ask fallowing him to the door
"Yeah gotta get home and sleep I have a lot of homework to do tomorrow." He said hugging me good night. I watched him walk home and enter his house before I went upstairs to put my things away. I got into my Pajamas and went to bed falling asleep as soon as I Laid down. But not for too long as my dreams were replaced by nightmares.

Chace's POV
As I made my way home I couldn't forget everything that had happened the night before. What was the big mystery about Nat? Why was Jessy so protective over him? Will Nat forgive me on monday? Wait speaking of monday it's Nat's birthday. I thought i should get Nat a present then i got give it to him and say sorry. So instead of going home I went to the mall. After walking around the mall all day I finally found something I thought Nat might like. I ended up getting a beanie. It wasn't like his other one's tho it was black with bill on it and on the side was a skull and cross bones. As i was walking I saw Jessy and was about to call out to him until i saw a girl walk out of the salon to him. She looked pretty from what i could see. She was wear a black tank and jeans, her long black hair flowing over her shoulders. In her arms was a few bags and a hoodie she was talking to Jessy when he reached out and touched her hair making her smile. they then turned and left. What the heck who was the girl she was so pretty? Why hadn't Jessy told me about having a girlfriend? Wait but that means he doesn't have a thing for Nat. After that thought I followed them out of the mall and I headed home. When I got home I ate and then went to bed exhausted. But the next morning I woke with a start as I had just realised what I was wrong about Nat.
