The brown werewolf padded through the forest, sniffing around, trying to look for the person he needed. She should be around here somewhere. And if she wasn't, he was gonna head home. Part of him knew that, most likely, Mrs Bones wasn't going to be anywhere near the forest. She was one of those types that loved to plan and scheme, but when it actually came down to getting dirty, she wanted to wash her hands completely of it. Typical.
He licked his teeth, trying to get out a tiny piece of bone stuck between them. It had been a while since he last hunted properly, and his skills were a bit rusty. When was the last time he had prey who ran and fought back? At least he managed to subdue this one without any injury to himself.
Maybe Xue has been pampering me a little too much...
He padded through the dewy grass, carefully swiping away his tracks with his trail. He couldn't let them find him this easily. He was supposed to be dead, after all. So far, there was no scent of any other person, apart from the thick, matted mix of scents emanating from the stone castle beyond the forest's edge.
Poor kids...
The werewolf sighed, ready to retreat further into the woods, but just as he was about to give up the search, his pace slowed as the familiar smell of cigarette smoke entered his nostrils.
Why is... she here?
He couldn't stop his tail wagging as he saw her: Xue Hua, the only one who had stood by his side from the beginning. If it hadn't been for her, he would have been executed the moment he was turned. She was cruel and cold, yes, and if you dared go against her word, it was a death sentence, but he still owed his life to her.
The werewolf padded forward, head bowed in respect.
"I did not expect to see you here, Xue." he muttered, watching as she turned to the sound of his voice. His amber eyes narrowed. Something didn't seem right here. His ears perked up, ready to fight if anything went sour.
"Ah, Sirius. Come along now." she said, as cold as ever, as she pulled out what looked like a collar and leash, shaking it slightly.
"Not funny, Linny." Sirius snarled, raising his hackles just a bit to let the trickster know he was serious. Yeah, yeah, him being Xue's obedient little lapdog was common knowledge and all, but that was just cruel.
"What the fuck?!" 'Xue' threw her hands up in bewilderment. "Did Miss Hua go and teach you her detective skills too?"
"Hmph, who says an old dog cannot learn new tricks?" Sirius said with a sly grin.
"Ah, fuck this..."
'Miss Hua's' appearance melted away, leaving the familiar masked face of Linny.
"You two are no fun." they grumbled, "can't even get a good reaction out of ya. But I suppose it is my fault, fooling about on official business."
Sirius grunted and shifted into a seated position. He was in the presence of an Advisor after all, and he was not as fearless as Xue to disrespect anybody directly.
"So," he finally said, "can you tell me what the next step is? The hunt's over, so I'm really just waiting on instructions right now."
"Ah, yes, about that. Yes, boss said it would be preferable if somebody with a bit more finesse stepped in to finish the job. So that's where I come in. You're free to go, Sirius, good work, by the way."
The werewolf just gave another grunt. Fine by him. He could really do with a drink right now, to wash out that rusty aftertaste.
"Do you think they'll notice?" he did say, amber eyes studying a mouse scarpering amongst the tangled roots, "Ain't hard to see that this is not the work of an adolescent werewolf."
"Doesn't really matter if they notice," Linny grinned, "once the fear settles in, it's human nature for them to panic."
"I'll take your word for it, but if something does happen during my involvement, you know what will happen."
"Ha! Me? Provoke Miss Hua? Please, I do not ever want to get my ass whooped by a woman five inches shorter than me."
"We'll see." Sirius scoffed.

It was that night at dinner when the Sugar and Rosa finally got an opportunity to talk with Knight again. But now, he seemed to be discussing something about herbology with Hugo. And surprisingly, Knight appeared to be the one explaining things to the bespectacled boy.
To be fair, those two were oblivious to the whole situation, but it still didn't make things any less frustrating.
"When are those two ever gonna stop talking?" Rosa whispered to Sugar.
"I don't know, but hopefully soon, since I would hate for Knight to know about the whole things from actually witnessing the room himself." he said with a shudder
The two decided that the medicine incident was a private matter, and there was no need to involve more people than they already had. They had already sworn Jayden and Wendy to silence (they had offered to perform a Sealing Vow, but they eventually decided it was too over the top), and they promised to tell Rina to keep their mouth shut too, so everything seemed to be settled quite nicely.
To think Charlie would actually be capable of doing something like this. Like, Sugar knew it was certainly possible, but perhaps a little naively, he thought that Charlie would be too cowardly to actually commit to doing anything. Looked like he thought wrong.
Finally, Hugo was seemed to have understood whatever concept Knight was teaching him, and turned away with a nod. Now, the boy turned his attention to Sugar and Rosa.
"What's up? You've been staring at me for a while, is something the matter? Did I do anything wrong? I hope I didn't do anything wrong." he said, growing more nervous with every word.
"No, no, of course you didn't," Rosa quickly assured Knight, "it's just that..."
"Someone messed with your medicine." Sugar whispered, leaning in.
"What?" Knight said, the colour draining from his face.
"Yes, they dumped the whole bottle out," Rosa said, the anger in her voice obvious.
"No, no, this is bad..." Knight muttered, "It's already waxing gibbous... Sorry, I need to go."
He started to get up, but Sugar grabbed his wrist
"Hey, don't worry, we got your back, dude. We know who did it, and we'll definitely get them for it."
"No."
Knight was firm, and his bright blue eyes hardened into an expression that neither Sugar nor Rosa had ever seen on him before. Was Knight... angry?
"Please, don't get involved in this. This is my personal issue. I... can deal with this... alone." he said, pulling his arm away from Sugar's grip.
With that, he got up and quickly excused himself from the table, hurrying off.
"Uhm... what happened to him?" Hugo said, slowly blinking at the two.

Sirius would like to think he's an 'alpha male', but he is very much a lapdog. I'm afraid.
Hehe, now things are really coming to a head... Pretty soon Knight's biggest secret will be revealled and something bad will happen to our dear Beatrix Nightblood eheheheheheehehheh mwhahahaah!!! >:DDDD
Now that all the evil, ominous author shit is done: Sorry for the late update, been busy with my exams, but don't worry, they're over, and I'm back on the grind!
