Running Away
Matapos ba naman ang mabigat na araw na pinagdaanan niya, her just being here was already a relief.
After that tense boardroom meeting with Nale Hidalgo, she needed to relax... she deserves to relax. But the knot in her stomach wouldn't disappear. It was always like this with him.
Her heart suddenly skipped a beat when she saw Nale, sitting in the steaming water, his back turned to her.
His dark hair clung damply to the back of his neck with water droplets shining as they ran down his skin.
He wasn't supposed to be here. She booked a private session.
Sinalubong siya nang spa attendant. Her cheerful voice suddenly interrupted her swirling thoughts.
She walked gracefully inside. Not minding the rumbling of butterflies in her stomach.
Please, enjoy your session!
Enjoy? How was she supposed to relax with him here when the tension between them was almost palpable?
She could actually leave now, say the room wasn't big enough after all, but that would be running away. You're not a coward, Charity.
Nale remained motionless, but his presence was overwhelming, filling the entire space around her. She felt the tension in every inch that separated them, as if the silence between them was growing heavier, making it harder for her to breathe.
Don't ignore him. You know you can't.
"I'm sure the water will be as efficient as you like it."
For a moment, Nale didn't react. But then, he slowly turned his head.
