Bey's POV

Sitting on the couch and strolling through emails, I could hear the kids and Y/n yelling by the pool.

"Blue, chill man." I heard Y/n laugh and water splashing.

I tried to focus my attention back on my work, but the sound of footsteps coming around the corner ruined my train of thought. "Baby!" Y/n yelled appearing from around the corner in a white T-shirt and some Nike athletic shorts that I liked to call her "male booty shorts" because of the way the rode up her thighs.

I finished responding to an email from Columbia before setting my laptop down and leaning back on the couch to admire how good my baby looked.

Her shirt and face were slight wet and it was probably from the kids slashing water on her. "Yes?" I grinned as she sat her phone face up on the Maria coffee table in front of me.

"What happened to getting in the pool?" She folded her arms and frowned at me jokingly. "You just left me to tend to three children."

"I'm sorry, baby. Emails started coming in and I got caught up." I pouted. "Yeah, ok." Her eyes scanned my body.

"You look good in yo little Rockets jersey." She walks closer to where she's hovering over me.

"Do I?" I grinned looking up at her. She mumbles and "mhm" under her breath before spreading my legs a little so she could lay her body comfortably between them and on top of me. Her head rested gently on my right breast.

Her arms wrapped my body to hug me tight and I laughed. "Baby, ouch."

"My fault." She mumbled against my chest.

My hands played in her curls, slightly brushing down her line up. This position was so rare, but I loved when she's all up under me. "You know, I been feeling like we need to take the kids to New York or Houston."

"Why? They've been." I frowned with a slight smile on my face. I love bringing our kids to our hometowns, but we haven't had time on our schedules to actually get out of California right now.

"Just feel like they need a little bit of grounding from time to time. They been in Malibu for too long." And by her tone I knew that she was being serious.

"Ok, we can find time on our schedule and figure something out." I scratched her scalp and she nodded.

We sat in silence for a moment before something clicked in my head. "You really just left our six year olds in the pool with no supervision?" I frowned lifting up a little but she doesn't move.

"No for one, Blue is twelve and I told her to watch them. Two, they all have they're floaties on. And three, we didn't get them swimming lessons when they were younger for no reason." She said. "Now, lay back. We can go out there in a minute."

I rolled my eyes and laid back, praying that my kids were okay in the pool by themselves, but they're laughter ringing from outside and into the home let me know that they were perfectly fine.

In the mist of my thoughts, Y/n's phone began buzzing against the table.

With my eyes glued to her screen, I seen the name 'Aaliyah' appear three times from iMessage notifications as well as a missed phone call.

I tried not to think too much of it, but once she called again and Y/n continued to lay here as if her phone wasn't blowing up, my mind wondered to the worst. "You don't hear your phone?" My tone ringing of irritation.

"Huh?" She acted as if she didn't hear me but I know she did. "Ok, Y/n." I rolled my eyes.

"What?" She laughed not moving from my chest.

"Your phone is blowing up." She shrugged her shoulder at my response. "Who is it?" She mumbled.

"Aaliyah?" I waited for her response. "You want me to answer it?" I questioned out of curiosity.

"Nah, don't worry about it." Her body tensed a little and my I halted the movement from my hands playing in her hair.

Strike one.

She always tells me to answer her phone when she can't get to it, so what's the problem now?

"Why? What if it's important?" I continued.

I just want to know who this girl is calling her phone like she's crazy. "It ain't, Bey. Just leave it alone, damn." I scrunch my face at her tone.

Strike two.

Why the fuck is she getting so defensive?

"Y/n, watch your tone." I said calmly and in response she lets out a loud huff.

"Mommy!" I hear yelling getting closer to us.

"Yes, Ru Ru?" I asked as her and Sir came running around the corner. "Stop running before one of y'all fall." I scolded.

I mentally prepared myself to see all the water that they were tracking into the house. "Mommy, you said you would get in the pool with us."

"She did, huh?" Y/n said into my chest.

She had honestly annoyed me so much that I wanted to push her off, but I decided against it since Rumi and Sir were in front of us. "Mama, can you come back out too?" Sir asked and I pouted at his little quiet voice.

Y/n's phone buzzed again and I caught glance of who it was calling, and of course it's the same girl. "We'll come out in a minute, aight?" She responded reaching over to the coffee table and flipping her phone over.

Strike three.

Now, she done pissed me off.

Her hands ran down my thigh, gripping it once the kids are back outside. "Move." I swatted her hand and pushed her off of me.

"Damn, baby." She frowned at me from the other side of the couch. I grabbed her phone off the coffee table and answered the phone.

"Hello?" I heard a woman's voice from the other side.

"Who is this?" I responded with no greeting.

"Is this Y/n?" She spoke but Y/n snatched the phone out of my hand, ending the call.

"Bruh, what are you doing?" She frowned.

"Who the fuck is Aaliyah?" I tilted my head at her and she let out a bitter laugh. "Why, bruh? Why are you questioning me?" She twisted her face up.

"Because she's calling your phone back to back and your acting like that's not weird. Like you don't want to answer the phone in front of me."

"So what's going on?"
