As I feel shivers run down my back, I suddenly become aware of the situation. I'm not supposed to have one. They always told me I wasn't, at least. My hands start to shake as I think more about this. 'He won't love me,' I think to myself. 'He'll just reject me.' At that thought my wolf whimpers.
I stand up, knocking over my chair, and dash out of the room. Tears stream down my cheeks as I exit the school. I run through the woods back to the pack house. I run down the stairs to my room and cry. I cry for everything that's wrong with my life.
For the death of my parents, who lost there lives protecting me. I cry for all the beatings I've received in the last ten years. For the pain, both emotional and physical. But what makes the tears fall fuller and faster is the thought of the rejection I will receive from my mate.
Just that makes me stand up. I walk up the stairs in a daze. I walk down the halls letting my feet carry me. I find myself in a room and see why I'm here. The gun on the bed belongs to one of the warriors.
I pick it up making sure it's loaded. I hear the front door open and know I have to do it, now or never. My hand trembles as I put it to my temple. I hear a shout behind me.
I pull the trigger.
