Chapter 12: Summer is coming

The spinning of your pen stopped, your eyes looking up at the words Aizawa had mentioned.

Training Camp. In a forest.

The class was excited, yelling things about some activities they could do. Things like fireworks and games.

You didn't believe that it would end like that. Training camps were camps where you would train to death and not enjoy yourself. Considering the act of events, you assumed that it was for the provisional license in some months which you still had to help Mera with.

The mood was smashed as newfound information was revealed.

"Anyone who doesn't pass the upcoming final exams is in for summer school hell, right here"

That was something you had expected Aizawa to say. Even though his habit was to sleep in class, he still remained strict and professional. Just like five years ago.

The bell to the end of class rang, signaling the end of the lesson and the school day as you packed your things into your bag, fast enough to avoid most of your classmates speaking to you as you passed by the door, rushing towards your usual hiding spot.

Not fast enough for Kirishima to catch your wrist and pull you back.

"Hey [L/N]! You have been avoiding us for a while. That isn't very manly of you! But do you want to study with me and one of my friends?"

You turned around at his words, taking a breath in before you narrowed your gaze.

"Which one of your friends?"

The importance of wording was something that you had learned from a young age, noticing that he worded 'one of my friends' and not one of yours.

"You'll see. I just fear that I won't be able to pass the exam so I need your help"

He grinned innocently, his shark tooth showing as he kindly asked you. It wasn't false innocence. It was genuine.

"No"

"Come on, you don't have anything to do this summer"

"No"

"Please?"

You wouldn't need to study, no matter the outcome since Hakamada-sensei and an agent from the HPSC had taught you different subjects, reaching the level of university after years of torture and more homework if you didn't understand it. Most of the time you had studied hard, even when your brain had been creating smoke.

If you would accept this offer, this would be an opportunity to prove Kirishima's true innocence who you already believed wasn't the traitor. Just to prove your theories right. You could revise some subjects too.

You wanted to reject the offer. There were not many logical reasons you could do this. You were far too tired to help someone study.

But maybe, just maybe, it would help your mind and deduct who was the final traitor.

After all, Kirishima was a sweet guy who wasn't too exhausting to talk to and spend your social batterie too.

"...Fine. Text me later. And don't forget the practical part of the exam"

You sighed, watching him grin ear to ear as he thanked you and let go of your wrist.

The temperatures had changed to a warmer one, leaving the students in the T-shirts of the school uniform as they walked past you.

The training ground of Ground Beta was at the other side of the school, making you pass the entrance of the lunchroom with your eyes on the ground and your steps fastening some paces.
