000. the sun and its shadows
━━━ ₊˚⊹【 💌 】genevieve's pov !
genevieve has always been one of those girls who shine. of course, her external beauty also contributed to this, but the girl shone brightest from within. a blinding kindness, warmth and pure sunshine were kept deep within her.
but other things were also hidden there. like any human being, genevieve was far from perfect, although some might see her as such, she was definitely not flawless. she had many flaws, flaws that were immeasurable and that would one day eat her from the inside. but that day wasn't today. that's why the sun still shone.
..
"ginny! i swear to god, if you're not ready in two minutes, we're going to the lake without you," suzanne's voice called to her from downstairs as she hurriedly squeezed the last of her things into her suitcase. "tell me you're not fucking serious right now," genevieve muttered quietly to herself as her bag struggled to close. "i'll be right there, annie!"
"better be! mum and dad have been waiting since the weekend and today is the welcome dinner. zach just texted, saying that we're leaving soon and you're still not ready." "i said i'd hurry up!," the girl replied with a slightly annoyed tone. her sister was nervous and probably rightly so. it wasn't like much had changed since last summer, but something had. every summer held a new secret and genevieve would find it out again.
the youngest jameson daughter took long strides down and quickly stumbled over the stairs until she finally stood in front of her sister. suzanne looked like a flawless statue, too perfect to be true, a graceful beauty with the vanity of an ice queen.
behind her dark eyes, genevieve saw her immense intelligence, the love for towards no other than her, but also something she didn't fully understand. at that moment the girl decided to ignore this feeling. maybe it was better that way.
"it's nice that you finally decided to get ready," said suzanne and walked through the hallway to the apartment door, while her shiny black suitcase rolled behind her. genevieve quickly followed her sister and stepped out of the apartment into the hallway.
these also testified her family's wealth, after all there were very few who could afford to live in a building like this. chandeliers full of diamonds and gold decorations on the paintings accompany the two girls to the elevator and until they stepped out of the front door.
outside, a slightly cooler breeze full of city air awaited them. frowning, suzanne kept looking at her phone. "hopefully zach will come soon," said genevieve with a sideways glance at her sister. "he just texted me. he can't be far away either," replied the older one of them. the other girl just quietly nodded in agreement.
