Chapter 3: The Shiny Rod

In a forest covered in an ominous mist, (Y/N) Chaos opened his eyelids, complaining about the pain, and realised that he was trapped by moss-covered vines between gloomy trees. He let out a cry of surprise as he tried to remove the vines, but he fell out of the trees and collided with Akko, who was below him.

The two of them crashed into Sucy, who had also lost consciousness since the fall of the magic portal. (Y/N) stood up, observing the forest where he was standing with curiosity, until Akko grabbed him.

Akko: "Did you try to kill me by falling on me?"

(Y/N): "Don't yell at me. I'm reminding you that it's your fault we ended up here!"

The conversation between the two sorcerers was interrupted by a card of Shiny Chariot falling from the treetops. (Y/N) grabbed the card to observe the image printed on the cardboard, but Akko snatched the card from his hands as it was her treasure. They suddenly felt a shiver of fear as Sucy woke up and watched the pair of idiots with a frightened look on her face.

A scream startled the group as (Y/N) was the first to rush to where the cry was coming from. He saw Lotte, who looked saddened by her broom, which had been destroyed by the fall.

(Y/N): "Are you okay?'" He approached Lotte as Akko and Sucy arrived after him.

Lotte: "Yes, I'm fine, but my broom is broken..."

(Y/N): "Don't worry, Akko will buy you a new one when we've left this forest."

Akko: "What?"

(Y/N): "You're the one responsible for this situation, so you should at least buy a new broom for Lotte!"

Akko: "First we have to get out of here..."

(Y/N): "By the way, do you know where we are? I love adventure, it's always fun, but I hope I don't meet any ghosts in this gloomy forest."

Akko: "Are you afraid of ghosts? I thought you were braver than that..." A teasing smile appeared on Akko's face as he patted (Y/N) on the arm to tease him.

(Y/N): "I'm the bravest wizard in the world, but I'm allowed to be scared of ghosts. Everyone's allowed to be scared of something!" (Y/N) turned his gaze and saw Sucy's face looking at him, as he screamed in terror.

Sucy: "We are in the Arcturus Forest."

(Y/N): "The Arcturus Forest? This forest was mentioned in the school brochure..."

The group of sorcerers went to find the way out of the magical forest where it would be difficult for an experienced witch to leave, impossible for novices like (Y/N). The rest of the group seemed rather worried that they had probably missed the start of the school year, but (Y/N) was enthusiastic about the adventure, even forgetting about Luna Nova.

(Y/N): "A legendary place where it's hard to get out... It's a new adventure! We're going to find ancient ruins and magical artefacts!"

Akko: "Why do you look so cheerful? This isn't a fun adventure, we need to find a way to leave this place and get back to school."

A smile lit up (Y/N)'s face as he saw his belongings scattered on the ground with Akko's. They rushed to pick up their things and (Y/N) picked up Akko's cuddly toy to help her, but he felt the dark aura of a huge carnivorous plant watching the young wizard.

Despite the others shouting at him to get out of the way, (Y/N) waved his hand to greet the plant about to devour the young man. Akko jumped on (Y/N) to save him from the plant's bite and fled with him. The plant's roots emerged from the ground and attacked the group fleeing from the creature that was too dangerous for them.
