When Kurt arrived at their modest home, he was warmly greeted by his younger brother, Ken. Ken’s face was lit up with a bright smile, clearly thrilled at his older brother’s return. “Kuya, isn’t today your birthday? Happy Birthday! ”Ken exclaimed with enthusiasm. “Mama bought fried chicken for us to celebrate, so we have something special to eat for your birthday! ”

Kurt’s heart swelled with joy. It had been a long time since they had a treat like fried chicken, and the thought of celebrating his birthday with such a meal filled him with happiness. Without wasting any time, Kurt hurried to set up the dining area. The table was a bit wobbly, so he placed a stone under one of its legs to balance it, then Kurt and Ken took their seats on the wooden chairs that their father had made.

As they prepared for the meal, Kurt’s parents arrived home. His father came in from the fields, his work clothes still dusty from the day’s labor. Upon seeing Kurt, he immediately greeted him with a heartfelt “Happy Birthday! ”The warm gesture added to Kurt’s growing happiness.
Not long after, Kurt’s mother returned from the market, carrying a bag with the fried chicken. Her face lit up with a smile as she entered the house. “Happy Birthday, Kurt! ," she said, her voice cheerful as she presented the fried chicken.

The combined gestures of love and celebration from his family made Kurt’s birthday special, filling the home with warmth and joy. As they gathered around the table, Kurt felt a deep sense of contentment and gratitude for his family and the simple, heartfelt celebration they had prepared for him.

On this day, Kurt's heart was brimming with joy, to the point where it felt as though he could soar with happiness. His mother had carefully prepared the meal, and after setting everything on the table, the family gathered around to sit and eat together. As they settled into their wooden chairs, the atmosphere was filled with a warm, familial intimacy.

With the fried chicken now on their plates, they began their meal. Kurt's mother served the food with a smile, her eyes twinkling with pride and love. His father, who had recently returned from the fields, joined them with a sense of relaxation and contentment, his earlier fatigue melting away in the company of his family.

As they ate, the room was filled with cheerful conversation. The family shared stories, laughed about old memories, and talked about their day. The simple joy of being together, enjoying a special meal, and celebrating Kurt’s birthday created a festive and heartwarming atmosphere. Kurt looked around at his family, his heart swelling with gratitude and love for these moments of togetherness. The happiness of the day made him feel like he was floating, as if all his worries had been temporarily lifted by the warmth of his family’s affection and the celebration they had prepared for him.
