Chapter 2
"She kissed me, Dinah." Camila spoke on the phone quietly, but full of rage. "I don't understand why she thought it was okay to do something like that, then have the audacity to say what she did." She looked over to the counter where the green eyed girl stood, clearly flirting with the employee who was handing her the cleanest pair of ice skates. "Now she's talking some girl, probably going to get her number so she could bring her back home."
"It sounds like someone's a little bit jealous if you ask me." Dinah replied, making Camila heated even more.
"There is no way in hell that I could be jealous. I'm just pissed off that I am sitting here in the middle of the park, freezing my ass off, watching a kid that is not even mine, play some damn hockey! While she goes and flirts with other girls right in front of us!" Camila made her voice known, catching a few glances from strangers. "Dinah I just need you now. Please" She nearly begged.
"I'll come over after I work, okay bubba? Stay strong and hang in there." Dinah said before hanging up the phone, making Camila feel safer already.
Dinah Jane Hansen was another close friend of Camila's. They had met in Hawaii after Camila had twisted her ankle hiking which caused the Polynesian beauty to come to the rescue. At the time she was training to be a sports medicine doctor, which actually turned out to be a dream come true. Coincidentally two years later, they ran into each other on the streets of New York, realizing they had lived two blocks away from one another.
Perrie and Dinah never really like each other though, since they would fight over attention from Camila... But it turned out that they wanted her in completely different ways. Perrie still wanted her best friend, while Dinah on the other hand, wanted to be something more.
The two were never in a committed relationship. They worked opposite hours, which happened to be terribly long as well. When they did have their precious and rare off-time, they would happily have their little flings.
"You're going out there?" Camila asked Lauren who sat next to her at the table.
"It may come to a surprise to you, but I actually love playing hockey. And Joey can definitely use some tips from me since now I'm his 'legal guardian'." Lauren rolled her eyes, using a sarcastic tone. "I've always used condoms but somehow I end up with a kid anyway." She muttered under her breath.
"That is your godson out there." Camila narrowed her eyes. "If you despise that idea of taking care of him, then I will gladly take full custody."
"We can barely take care of ourselves, Camz." Lauren pointed out as soon as she finished putting on her skates. "How do you expect us to take care of a child?"
"Whether you like it or not, Zayn and Perrie wrote our names down. They have faith in us." Camila responded, loosening her strict tone of voice. "They specifically picked us."
"A social media manager with a side job as a bartender, and then an artist in the making." Lauren scoffed. "What a dream team."
"You work with GoPro and bar tend at one of the most popular clubs in New York City, and I'm a music producer. If you ask me, that's a decent amount for an income considering we're only 24." Camila shrugged.
"Whatever." Lauren walked away towards the ice, joining Joey and other little children playing hockey.
Camila watched for ten minutes, finally feeling like she had somewhat convinced the green eyed girl to do a better job than what she has within the past 24 hours. Some weight has been lifted off her shoulders, until she felt another presence join her.
