The weeks of chemotherapy were a test of Finilene’s resilience. Each session was a mix of hope and fear, but she faced it all with incredible strength. Sa bawat sesyon, kahit mahirap, Finilene stayed strong.

One afternoon, while we were sitting on the sofa in her apartment, reality hit hard. Her once thick hair was now falling out.

“James, tingnan mo,” she said, holding a small bundle of hair that had fallen from her head. “It feels so painful.”

I looked at her, trying to smile to show my support. “Huwag kang mag-alala, Fin.

She gave a weak but sincere smile. “Salamat, James.

Her courage was inspiring.

We began talking about things that made her happy, the memories that brought her joy despite the pain. Her smiles, even when strained, gave me strength and hope.

“Masaya ako na andiyan ka, James,” she said, her voice full of gratitude.

“Hindi mo kailangang malaman,” I replied, holding her hand firmly. “Kasi, hindi kita iiwan. Laban tayo hanggang sa dulo.”

As the treatment continued to bring its challenges, I knew our love would give us the strength to endure. This journey was tough, but every day together proved that love and support were our greatest allies.
