Chapter 11
Katsuki crouched at the edge of a jagged cliff, his eyes scanning the vast expanse below him. The world that spread out before him was nothing like anything he had ever seen. Towering mountains stretched across the horizon, their peaks piercing the clouds like jagged teeth. Dense forests carpeted the valleys below, wild and untamed, and the distant shimmer of rivers wove through the land like silver veins. It was a landscape out of a fantasy novel, something surreal, impossible—and yet, here he was.
A crinkled map rested in his hands, its surface covered in strange symbols and lines that seemed to shift every time he glanced at them. It was old, the parchment worn and frayed at the edges, and the ink on it shimmered faintly, almost alive. Katsuki narrowed his eyes at the markings, trying to make sense of the twisting paths and unknown landmarks.
None of it made any sense, at least not yet.
He gritted his teeth, the frustration building inside him as he glanced at the map again. His memories were a mess—a jumbled collision of the reality he had left behind and this strange, unfamiliar world he had woken up in. He could still feel the remnants of the life he'd lived before, the weight of his decisions, of leaving Izuku behind to get that cursed tarot card. The guilt eating at him like a festering wound, a sharp, twisting ache in his gut.
But there was something else too. Memories of this new world, this new version of himself, had begun to seep into his mind like an unwanted guest. It was disorienting, like trying to balance two different realities in his head at once. One moment, he was the Katsuki Bakugo from U.A. High, the same explosive bastard who had fought his way through every obstacle thrown at him. And the next moment, he was... this.
In this world, he wasn't just some student hero. He was something else, something more. He knew these mountains, these lands, in a way that felt innate. He knew how to survive here. Knew how to wield weapons he'd never touched before in his old life. And, as much as he hated to admit it, Izuku had been right. Because of the card—because Izuku had pushed him to grab it—Katsuki had kept his memories intact. He remembered U.A. He remembered the League. He remembered Izuku. And as much as he irked him, without those memories, without the Minor keeping him tethered to his past, he wouldn't have realized the importance of looking for the damn nerd.
But where the hell is that nerd now?
Katsuki scowled, his grip tightening on the map. He had no clue where Izuku was, no idea what parallel he'd been dropped into. For all he knew, Izuku could be anywhere in this massive, sprawling world—or worse, he might not have made it to this one at all. The thought gnawed at him, but he shoved it down. Worrying wouldn't help him right now.
