Izuku Midoriya – Notebook Entry Current Parallel- Quirk Swap The Death of Lovers – Interpretation (Incomplete)
I don't fully understand what it means yet. It's a fused Arcana—unprecedented. The tarot shouldn't allow this kind of merger, based off of Fatebreaker's initial reaction to it, not unless something went wrong. Or maybe something went too right. That's what scares me.
At first glance, it sounds literal—like love ends in death. That maybe people who care for each other too much are doomed to lose one another, over and over again. But I don't think it's that simple. Or... I hope it's not.
Maybe The Death of Lovers isn't about people dying. Maybe it's about what dies inside them.
The part that still believes they'll make it through untouched. The idea that love can exist without consequence. That you can care for someone without it changing who you are. Because it does. Love burns through you. And what's left... isn't worse. Just different.
It feels like the card is a warning. Or a choice. Or both. That if we keep going—if we keep caring for each other through this curse, through these lives—something in us will break. Something will end. But maybe what's born from that... is the only thing strong enough to survive Fate itself.
I don't know. I'm probably wrong.
But Katsuki kissed me. And part of me hasn't come back since.
Current Major Arcana in Possession 2/22)
• The Fool (Card 0) – Fused to me in Ground Beta, after rejecting Kacchan outright. The Fool isn't an insult. It represents new beginnings. Stepping into the unknown without knowing the cost—but going anyway. Hope without proof. Trust without guarantees. Sometimes I wonder if that's why the curse latched onto me first. Because I believed in something I couldn't see. Because I believed in him.
• The Emperor (Card 4) – Fused with Katsuki in Doomspire after he drew the Blade of Aether. Authority. Will. Unshakable spine. The card didn't just choose him—it fit him. Like it had been circling, waiting for the moment he stopped running from who he is. Not just the fighter. Not just the protector. But the one who decides what stands and what falls. He doesn't say it, but I think the Emperor scares him. I think it reminds him of everything he's trying to hold together—me, the mission, this whole broken cycle. And I know he'd die trying to keep it all from slipping through his fingers. He already has.
